Re: Gold Coast, Queensland[edit]

Actually, it would seem that you are misinformed. The Queensland suffix derives from Wikipedia:Naming conventions (places)#Australia and is required only for all town/suburb/city articles. Elsewhere, the general rules of Wikipedia:Disambiguation apply, which requires a qualifier or clause (like ", Queensland", but typically in parentheses) only in instances of ambiguity. In the case of Gold Coast Rapid Transit System, there exists no ambiguity and thus no need for the Queensland suffix. Thanks, --cj | talk 16:12, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

However good your article Trams and Light rail may be, it is a content fork since we already have articles on tram and light rail. Please improve existing articles rather than forking. (Also the L of light should not be capitalised. -- RHaworth 12:10, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rosettes[edit]

There is no reason why there shouldn't be a page about the construction of tramways which includes information about the operation and equipment including 'rosettes'. I am not an expert in the subject of Tramways, so i am not sure what the formal names are associated with the equipment. OK. I use an algorithmic-based processing system for searching for vandalism, Lupin's Anti-Vandal Tool. Being algorithmic-based, it saw the fact that you took the sections titled "Infrastructure and Equipment", "Tram Stop", "Controls", "Track", and "Power surply" (misspelled) from lv3 headings to simple boldface text, which is, first, not recommended according to MOS, and, second, draws an alert from the algorithm in the tool. Since it only displays the part of the diff that triggers the algorithm, I didn't realize that it was an incomplete edit. Also, I decided that it was a test edit when I noticed the sections were blank, which is considered a positive ID sign to test edits (I also do some work at CSD). Sorry about that, things like that do happen, and I hope to limit that possibility when I get to 250 mainspace edits, allowing me to apply for an advanced AV tool (the last time this happened, one user tried to revert a vandal edit which the vandal reverted, resulting in him putting the vandalism back in the article, and triggering my program, causing me to re-revert the edit and leave a message on his talk page).

Another thing: when I make small, incomplete edits, I tend to use one of my sandboxes or, for new articles I am trying to write, my personal AUD space. It works!

Tram[edit]

Yesterday I had to restore a section of text that someone had deleted. When I asked them to explain they said that it was because the section had a tag against it suggesting that it be removed to meet "quality standards". From the history I have determined that you placed the tag. I don't have a problem with what you did in placing the tag, but I do have an issue with the fact that you did not explain your actions clearly enough on the talk page. I am hoing to remove the tage as I don;t think that you have clearly given your reasons and it will lead to this section being deleted again. If you feel that the tag is required, then please can I ask you to clarify an explain what you intend more clearly. Thank you. Bhtpbank (talk) 07:54, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
