It is no exaggeration to say that the spring festivals held every year bring special recognition to this village. Sri Kesavaswamy Temple is a temple located in the village of Mandapaka. Sri Devarakonda Balagangadhara Tilak, a poetic ascetic, was born in this village.Tilak's anthology 'Amritam Kurisina Raatri', published in 1968, won the Central Literary Academy Award in 1971 for the best anthology.

Village history, name origin

According to local legends, this village is home to the shrines of the holy Shiva and Keshava and is the abode of Sri Mandavya Mahamuni. The village is known as Mandavya Kshetra and over time the place became known as Mandapaka. The Shiva temple in this village was known as Someshwara Temple and the Keshavalayam was known as Chaturbhuja Keshavalayam. This Keshava swamy temple is known as one of the five pancha Kshetra temples. Mandapaka, Rally, Tanuku, Duvva and Katalaparru are known as Pancha Kesava Kshetras. Someshwara Temple is located in the center of the village.

Mandapaka (Pakashika) is a village in the Tanuku Zone of the West Godavari District. It is 2 km from Tanuku, the center of the region.
