Censored Wikipedia[edit]

Wikipedia, as you appear to have recently discovered, is not censored. It is not a "children's" website. It is a collection of resources primarily for adults to do research. If you want a child-friendly Wikipedia, the software that is used to run Wikipedia is free to download and install on any server. Some people have taken it upon themselves to attempt to create a child-friendly version of Wikipedia. My favorite is http://schools-wikipedia.org (created for schools, not necessarily very young children). Of course, when it comes to censoring for children, everyone has a different idea of what should be censored. I am against praising violence - especially in the name of God. I really don't care if my son sees two adults kissing. Others feel that if you slap "God" on it, you can show naked people running around slaughtering animals with crowds cheering them on, but don't dare show two adults standing too close to one another. So, you are sure to find something on a censored version of Wikipedia that you feel shouldn't be there. You will also find some things removed that you feel should be there. -- kainaw 02:11, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please note. Wiki is not an Encyclopedia[edit]

Don't allow Children to learn anything from Wikipedia as it contains more spam than any scientifically valuable content.

Wiki can never be used as a valuable reference as most of the time people who think they know all used to contribute here.

For example, to become eligible to be Admin or Moderator for Wiki, then one should have contributed a lot in different sections in wiki!!! How come a single human be able to contribute a lot in different subjects that too, to the level of Encyclopedia!

Libraries and educational institutes should ban use of Wiki in their premises —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.49.216 (talk) 22:47, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
