Edit summaries[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to List of Neighbours characters (2016) does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! – JuneGloom07 Talk 18:12, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

February 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm Oshwah. An edit you recently made to List of Neighbours characters (2017) seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. March 2017[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of Hollyoaks characters, without citing a reliable source using an inline citation that clearly supports the material. The burden is on the person wishing to keep in the material to meet these requirements, as a necessary (but not always sufficient) condition. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. – JuneGloom07 Talk 19:58, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Luke Jerdy at the British Soap Awards 2016.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Luke Jerdy at the British Soap Awards 2016.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Train2104 (t • c) 20:43, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Luke Jerdy at the British Soap Awards 2016.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. April 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to List of births, marriages and deaths in Neighbours, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Infoboxes[edit]

Seeing as you constantly unhide them, I figured I should let you know we're not hiding them for fun. When they're unhidden they intrude into the section below, and make the page look untidy. When there's enough information for that character, then they get unhidden. So please stop unhiding them, and keep them hidden until there's enough information to justify them. Thank you. Yoshi876 (talk) 19:26, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just to add to this, most iboxes are hidden to avoid having too much whitespace in that section. Please keep this in mind, before unhiding them. - JuneGloom07 Talk 20:54, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Hollyoaks characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Charlie Clapham. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:52, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jessica Ellis has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Information icon Hello, I'm JuneGloom07. Your recent edit to the page Paige Smith appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. The article Caleb Alloway has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG, WP:BLP, WP:V and WP:RS, as the only source is IMDb.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hollyoaks[edit]

Will you STOP removing recurring characters from the list? They are recurring for a reason - and have 1 year rules on them. Continuing to remove them will result in a warning. ThisIsDanny (talk) 19:00, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected it by adding a notice saying "DO NOT REMOVE PER ONE YEAR RULE". I have basically put it right and edited Lynette Drinkwell by replacing the "Former; guest" to "Present; guest". I have done the same thing with Granny Campbell. "I have also removed the two characters from the List of past Hollyoaks characters" list. I am sincerely sorry for editing it. I thought I was helping, I didn't know that I was being disruptive. Lasquith (talk) 20:18, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this edit [1], if you want to experiment or test out your editing, please do so at the WP:Sandbox in future. - JuneGloom07 Talk 01:27, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Will Russell's death still remain on the list though?

Shane Sweeney[edit]

Stop putting that he has left the show, especially since you're a using a source that doesn't even confirm his death. The title of the article you keep citing, even says he might still be alive. Until a reliable source actually confirms Shane as dead, or having left the show, keep it as is. Yoshi876 (talk) 01:42, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of births, Marriages and deaths in Red Rock[edit]

I am thinking of creating a list of all the births, marriages and deaths that have happened in Irish soap opera Red Rock. It would be really handy if someone could tell me the people who have either been born, got married or have passed away since the soap began, with the parents of the newly born, the husband or wife of the person who got married and the cause of the death of the people who died since the show's inception along with the year that these events took place, like what other existing soap operas do.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone took the time to help me out. Thanksfor your cooperation.

A tag has been placed on User:Lasquith requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. List of Emmerdale characters (2017)[edit]

Could someone please explain to me how to create a character article which includes an infobox please? I am looking to create an article about newbies "Graham Foster" and "Tom Waterhouse" on the List of Emmerdale characters (2017).

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could assist me. That way then, I can create articles for new characters who have recently joined whatever soap they joined, whether it was Neighbours, EastEnders, Home and Away, Coronation Street, Emmerdale or Hollyoaks.
