Have a look at other articles and you'll see what works and what doesn't too - that's where (when I got it right) I started.... 🍺 Antiqueight chat 01:26, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Beden image[edit]

Could you tell me more about where you got this model of a Beden? I've seen various pictures of Bedens including this 1800s illustration by European travelers along the East African coast and if that model I asked about is your own work, it seems relatively "on-point". But I'd like to know what you based the model on if it's truly your own work. Archaeological finds? An actual Beden you've seen? Also, I didn't realize there were classes of Bedens meant for fishing and travel. I was aware the vessel was used for both but wasn't aware different kinds made for each particular purpose. Is that info in the sources shared on the page? I've only ever managed to read this work by Chittick on Bedens and he unfortunately didn't get that specific. Thanks, :-) Awale-Abdi (talk) 13:57, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, nevermind. I see the design looks relatively identical to an illustration from this book so it was from one of the sources. Take care, mate. :-) Awale-Abdi (talk) 14:08, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
