do people care about edit summaries? do people even see them?

I'm just another editor who stumbled upon this, but yes, edit summaries are *very* important. See Help:Edit summary - Special-T 05:05, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes, they do. They do see them. It's called a watchlist. Watch the page. I'll guarantee you that you'll see something. And one more thing. I don't think the username is WP:U. Check it out. -Goodshop 05:06, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

The statements in question were placed only yesterday. Surely, a fact tag is a better idea than an unexplained deletion by an anonymous user with no other edits. Such edits always look like vandalism to me. I have placed a fact tag, and will request that the user who made the original edits offer a source.
