Thanks for the good advice and information. I am open to new suggestions whenever necessary. I try to contribute in the best way to the joint development of this article. Leízo Araujo de Souza (talk) 18:17, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You decided to create an attribution section in the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Brazil article for yourself. I removed it because it violated Wikipedia:Ownership of content. Keep in mind that "Work submitted to Wikipedia can be edited, used, and redistributed—by anyone" and, as described in WP:OWNBEHAVIOR, "Sometimes a newcomer puts his or her name into the article as the author. Since no one "owns" any Wikipedia content, content should not be signed." I assume your contributions were in good faith and that you will understand that you cannot "claim" authorship on Wikipedia, no matter how much you contribute to an article. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Leízo Araujo de Souza, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Brazil have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Capewearer (talk) 00:48, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much Capewearer, your suggestion helps me a lot. Over the next few days as much as possible I will be reading the topics mentioned above. I hope I can contribute in the right way knowing that I adjust over time. I am trying my best to comply with all regulations and keep the article active in research, even in pandemic times. It's not easy. See you soon! Leízo Araujo de Souza (talk) 05:15, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2020[edit]

Please STOP adding copyrighted content to 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. The references you've cited are fine, but you must write the content in your own words, and not paste large sections of copyrighted news articles. If English isn't your first language, it's not a problem: if you make a grammar mistake here or there, other editors will help fix that. But Wikipedia is not allowed to host copyrighted content, as already explained. Thank you. Capewearer (talk) 09:18, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Capewearer, I'm sorry for the posts. I'm having the job of " 'Writing the content in my own words' ", but you've removed some posts where the content is my words. Like the post below: Leízo Araujo de Souza (talk) 14:15, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On 18 March, the National Indian Foundation (Funai) suspended, for the next thirty days, authorizations to enter indigenous lands due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19). In an attempt to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in indigenous populations, Ordinance No. 419, of March 17, 2020, adopted this measure. The new conceptions of authorizations most necessary for the continuity of essential services to communities, are in force. For example, the delivery of food and medicines, as well as medical assistance and security actions. Authorizations for any other type of concession are suspended. Indigenous populations are more vulnerable to contamination by Covid-19, due to this fragility, the risk of contamination increases and the virus can even reach isolated traditional peoples. The Regional Coordinators of Funai will carry out the evaluations, being able to reassess and reschedule the authorizations already granted. Entrance actions for more than 05 people on indigenous lands and the holding of events are all subject to the decision of the Coordinators. This post are my words and have been deleted from the article nonetheless. I would like to understand how I do to accomplish what you are asking me to do. As long as I'm using my words to describe the news, of course, without distorting its content and citing the source, like the example above. Leízo Araujo de Souza (talk) 14:15, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you can explain to me how to fulfill your request, tell me. Otherwise, I will have to stop researching this article, so as not to disturb your work. Thanks! Leízo Araujo de Souza (talk) 14:15, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The posts are not your words, they are a Google translations of copyrighted material from this other page at funai.gov.br. If you are the author of that article at funai.gov.br, and you still own the copyright on that content, then you can read how to resolve the copyright problem at WP:IOWN. Capewearer (talk) 20:02, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In Leizo's defense: FUNAI is a government body from Brazil. Therefore, afaik, all its publications belong to the public domain. However, he did copy and translate a lot of unnecessary information from that article, and should've summarized its contents. --Hagnat (talk) 15:17, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"Good Hagnat!" I tried to kind of stress that in other comments. My intention was to really bring another level to this article. Leave it rich with essential information on the subject that can be posted. All my research in the article contributed a lot to scientific enrichment, of points that we can attend to essential points in the crisis that the country is facing now. My intention was precisely to refine this research content more, but I was not getting time to carry out the research, at the same time discussing other important issues and still posting the content all by myself. I needed help to polish my work, not to exclude important information, but to dry the text so that it expressed a clear, distinct and informative document. I believe I have been walking in a good way.
First it happened that the aesthetics of the graphics were modified by you Hagnat who modified and deleted important graphics (this matter is already solved and closed). The other question was now that I had my research instead of polished, did you see Capewearer excluding my research without even thinking about it, or having a real sense of what I was doing, deleting my research and imposing that it should not be published.
You were wrong not to raise the issue under discussion with me, before acting on impulse. I also acted on impulse when I wanted to change the colors of the MAPA to the colors of the Brazilian flag. That was why I quickly agreed with Hagnat, who suggested that the colors remain the same by convention to the research project as a whole. I realized my mistake and soon agreed and gave up on my mistake.
Today I abandoned the article, because I gave up discussing issues that are clear and objective, it is necessary to acknowledge your mistake and undo the changes, instead of doing what you are doing with the research I had been working on. .
There is still time to resume the article. We would have to go back to the period before the Capewearer deleted the texts and simply polished them to fine tune the scientific content. All graphics that were posted must be maintained, without changes of type or aesthetic changes. My intention was to also include an informative data about the cases recovered from Covid-19 in Brazil, in the green color "Amazon Forest" to the topic of "Comparative Graphs" and also isolated just below with the other graphs, include the graph of recovered cases in bars with the exact number of daily cases.
At the moment I started other projects and abandoned this article, after I saw the most important topic in this article being deleted the topic was "Indian Protection". So I gave up on this project entirely, and I don't want to be a part of the fascist and ridiculous construction they are building there. Hugs and health to all!
