Air France Flight 4590

Dear LeadSongDog: if you are not too busy, could verify and correct the errors in this my edition of Air France Flight 4590? An IP reverted my edition and I would not to miss it, because I think that is not so bad ... Very grateful! PauloMSimoes (talk) 14:14, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

It isn't terrible English, but you did make a rather large edit. I'd suggest just slowing down a little. If you change a few sentences at a time, others will simply make corrective tweaks. In many cases, your text just needs adjustments to articles, pronouns, and punctuation: "Jointly developed and produced by Aérospatiale and the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC), had the serial number 3 and its first (post-production) flight was in 31 January 1975." should read "Jointly developed and produced by Aérospatiale and the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC), the aircraft had the serial number 3. Its first post-production flight was in 31 January 1975." All of this falls in the general realm of wp:COPYEDITs, requiring no special understanding of the topic but a good grasp of the language. There are many such editors available. If they are asked nicely you might even find a collaborator who can help you improve your English. Having said that, I may go looking for a French coach... Thanks, LeadSongDog! I'll follow your advice. PauloMSimoes (talk) 00:24, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

EFT edit revert

Dear LSD, Thanks for adding your comment to my discussion with James at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Jmh649#EFT_edit_revert I'm not arguing for the content of a conference presentations to be used as a source. If you read the thread fully I think you'll find that what I defend is that a sentence be included stating that this particular association included a talk on EFT at a staff development forum. This is a indication of how EFT is being received by one particular sector of society which, I believe, is precisely the idea in this section on Reception. Or am I getting it wrong? Thanks, Margarida Silva Mmmcsilva (talk) 23:08, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Did someone publish that interpretation in a reliable source somewhere, or is it simply your own conclusion on the matter? LeadSongDog come howl! 02:14, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

This message is being sent to you let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You do not need to participate however, you are invited to help find a resolution. The thread is "Homeopathy". Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! EarwigBot operator / talk 19:59, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Nirmala Srivastava in-text attribution

Hi Leadsong, regarding your recent change in accordance to WP:INTEXT, I believe you may have set up an inadvertent neutrality violation. By making the in-text attribution to the Sahaja Yoga Health and Research Centre in Mumbai and the Shri P.K. Salve Kala Pratishthan in Nagpur, the new texts seems to imply that there is some doubt about these statements. I think it would be best to leave these simple facts stated simply. As the article (WP:INTEXT) suggests: "Simple facts such as this can have inline citations to reliable sources as an aid to the reader, but normally the text itself is best left as a plain statement without in-text attribution". Regards, Freelion (talk) 01:02, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Quite the contrary. We should not use POV sources such as that to support POV statements (such as "better" meditation) in the voice of the encyclopedia, so we use INTEXT attribution, which makes it clear to the reader who it is that holds that POV. I would normally simply remove that POV statement, but another editor disagreed. LeadSongDog come howl! 19:18, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
I have made some refinements to the in-line attributions in accordance with the guidelines. Freelion (talk) 05:25, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello, from a DR/N volunteer

This is a friendly reminder to involved parties that there is a current Dispute Resolution Noticeboard case still awaiting comments and replies. If this dispute has been resolved to the satisfaction of the filing editor and all involved parties, please take a moment to add a note about this at the discussion so that a volunteer may close the case as "Resolved". If the dispute is still ongoing, please add your input. Crashdoom Talk 08:47, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm sitting out the discussion, but your proposed resolution would be acceptable if cj accepts it too.LeadSongDog come howl! 14:46, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello. When I create an article, I always check what links to every red link I add. Dukane, one I added to Beautiful People (band) and related articles, links to a comment you added to Talk:Air France Flight 447/Archive 4#Locator beacon battery life. As an expert in this field, could you help me out with writing an article on it?--Launchballer 09:44, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm not big on doing articles on businesses, but there's a history page at dukane.com that might help. We have an article for Underwater locator beacon, but they do make other audio-visual products. In fact they hived off that division as Dukane Seacom and sold it to HEICO a while back. Have fun.LeadSongDog come howl! 14:18, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
