March 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page The Sims 3 has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/The_Sims_3. If the external link you inserted or changed was to an external Wiki, then please note that these links should generally not be included (see 'links to avoid' #12).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 06:45, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that! I see I have a lot to learn about Wikipedia. I thought that external wiki pages were run by you so therefore it would be ok. Seemingly not! Please forgive me!

People are talking to me![edit]

People know about me! How did this happen?

Can anyone experienced tell me how to become an wikipedian/administrator?[edit]

Does anybody know how I become a Wikipedian? Similarily, has anyone got any idea how I become an Administrator?

--LegoCityBusDriver (talk) 17:53, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I found this talk page through your post on the talk page of the community portal. The message above is from an automated program (called XLinkBot) and the other person posting on your talk page probably found it after seeing an edit you've made to some article. To expand on the message left by the bot, wikia is not part of wikipedia. It's a little confusing because the guy who started Wikipedia owns Wikia as a for profit company.
You're already a wikipedian : ) A wikipedian is just a term for an editor on wikipedia. Administrators are editors with some extra technical abilities, like deleting pages. Doing administrative tasks can be a lot of work. Editors don't usually become administrators until they've edited for a couple years. If you have any questions, drop me a note on my talk page.--Banana (talk) 00:29, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your advise on the Wikipedian/Administrator. I have one question, how exactly do I become an Administrator? --LegoCityBusDriver (talk) 07:47, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Editors discuss if a certain editor should be an adminstrator at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, but there is no one way to "become" an administrator because no one quite agrees on what the qualifications should be. In general, you should have an extensive knowledge of Wikipedia's rules and how Wikipedia works. The best thing to read if you're trying to understand the process would be Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship. An example of one user's personal criteria is at User:Strikerforce/RfA Standards. A guide to some of the questions potential administrators are asked is at Wikipedia:RfA cheatsheet. Hopefully these links clear things up for you. --Banana (talk) 22:30, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You do not need to keep presenting the code. It is unique to you so no one can use 'acer' apart from you. This is for security Luke. Thanks!

What link? It may be something to do with being unable to place links. You'd probably be better on a help page or
an admin's talk page to be honest!
