GAN March 2014 Backlog Drive

Legobot posting GA messages in other people's name

I have previously requested that you stop your bot posting in my name. Don't do it again, I don't like it. If you want your bot to post stuff, then do it in your name, not other people's. Or, get people's permission first. Preferably, write a script allowing people to opt out of the messages completely. I much prefer to contact people in my own time and own way. Your messages appear like spam. They notify people before I'm ready. And they post even when I have already posted. Please sort it out. It's bloody annoying. SilkTork ✔Tea time 22:47, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi. So, for some reason I had never deployed the updated code that I had written in response to your request, my apologies for that. Your username is listed at User:GA bot/Don't notify users for me, so the bot should stop notifying users for you. Please let me know if it continues to do so. Thanks, Legoktm (talk) 05:13, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Rescaled images script

I've been using your rescaled images script (which is a fantastic update to drilnoth's by the way, thank you!) but it sometimes removes an extra line which means that it breaks the formatting below if there is another template above the {{non-free reduced}}. Some examples [22][23][24][25][26]. As you can see, this breaks the formatting on the level 2 header. Any chance of a fix? Hopefully it's as simple as adding a line break or something but I have no coding knowledge beyond Wikicode. Thanks very much, James086Talk 15:20, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

[27] should fix it, you may need to clear your cache for it to take effect. Please let me know if it doesn't work. Thanks, Legoktm (talk) 05:17, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
I tested it on all 5 of those examples and it worked perfectly. Thanks very much for the fix and again for the script. James086Talk 11:48, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Legobot

Looks like the bot is editing while logged out [28]. --NeilN talk to me 02:30, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, the framework should prevent against that. Unfortunately I'm about to go out of town, so I really don't have time to look into it. If it becomes a nuisance, I can just disable the bot, but I'd rather keep it running for now since it seems to be unpredictable and it's not screwing up. Legoktm (talk) 14:53, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Yo bot be trippin' foo!

Legobot (talk · contribs) seems to be editing while logged out (10.4.1.125 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) --slakrtalk / 09:09, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

...and it looks like someone else already let you know. :P hurrderp. --slakrtalk / 09:10, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Revert wars, Rachel Marsden page

Thank you for protecting the page. However, a user from the IP 195.132.58.181 (Ile de France, exactly where the subject of the article lives) just reverted all the editing work done - reverted it back to the version that was sourced primarily to - the bio blurbs authored by the subject. Would you please have a look at the page when you are able? Thanks CammieD (talk) 23:16, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Bill Chott

I think you did wikiusers a disservice by taking down the page for Bill Chott, a former announcer for the popular Saturday Night Live program, veteran of dozens of major motion pictures and television programs, and someone who's name is referenced in several other articles. You said there was a lack of reliable sources. Here are some that seem reliable to me. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0159273/?ref_=nv_sr_1 http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20364394_20539988,00.html http://www.fandango.com/billchott/filmography/p377853 http://www.rottentomatoes.com/celbrity/bill_chott/

Hi Lego, awesome script. I've run into what might be a bug with it though. I'm using Chrome, and the script is deleting old revision(s) but not removing the template (I do get the template telling me that it's been removed though). Any ideas? Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 10:32, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Legobot down

Legobot appears to have stopped working after 15:00, 17 March 2014 (UTC); it last updated the GAN page at 12:32 that day. If you could please restart the bot as soon as you see this, that would be great. Many thanks! BlueMoonset (talk) 14:44, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

From IRC

Hey. So the list I was hoping for is all pages in the file namespace that are members of Category:Items with OTRS permission confirmed and not members of Category:Wikipedia files on Wikimedia Commons for which a local copy has been requested to be kept. Thanks! Sven Manguard Wha? 01:15, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

TFA Protector Bot taking a well-deserved break?

Someone spotted that yesterday's TFA wasn't given move protection (and nothing after the TFA on 25th March has had been protected) - is the bot gone for good or just on holiday? Thanks, BencherliteTalk 14:38, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Protected the scheduled TFAs now, but it would be good to have this handy helper back soon - I've grown very dependent on it! Thanks, BencherliteTalk 14:47, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
It probably got screwed up in the eqiad migration. --Rschen7754 18:04, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
@Bencherlite: sorry about that, I had forgotten I had put the bot on a separate tool account so it got disabled during the labs migration. I've re-enabled it, and it should be back on it's hourly schedule. Whenever I get the time, I have plans to work on some monitoring tools so I'll get emails or IRC pings when the bot (and legobot) stop running. Legoktm (talk) 16:00, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Request for newsletter delivery

I am trying to find someone who can deliver a newsletter for WikiProject Baseball tomorrow, the North American opening night for the 2014 Major League Baseball season. Can you have a look at Wikipedia talk:Mass message senders#Request for trial newsletter delivery? I would appreciate it! isaacl (talk) 20:11, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
