Order of Good Cheer[edit]

Hello,

I noted that you were over on the Good Cheer page. If possible, could you do some work on the page. "Chevalier Teslar has done a fair job on the site, but it needs some additional work. I do not know how to set in pictures. Perhaps you can advise me on that esoteric art.

Have a great day

copyright[edit]

Its best to read WP:COPY for full details, but in essence when a person creates something they have a moral right as creator of the work(what ever its form), this right isnt transferred when the work is sold either. As creator your entitled to compensation when your work is displayed how you receive this compensation is where copyright offers choices.

If I take a photo I can release it as public domain to which I'm saying you can use this any way you want I dont want anything for it. Almost the same is GFDL/GNU is you can use this but you are required to attribute my efforts to me(Wikipdeias general license, hence the edit history for all pages). to that you can add a creative commons license that says you must attribute this to me, but dont need to ask first. Outside of these you get whats commonly known as "copyright" to which I say you must ask for my permission first and I'll set conditions of use, if you dont do this I'll have you in court faster than a wino to a bottle opening. Strong Password Userbox[edit]

Hello! I use your strong password userbox (User:Lemonflash/ubx/Passwordstrength) and would like to make a suggestion. The link is to hard to see on the black background. I recommend that you use the font color tag to force the link's text to white, making it easier to see.
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 02:47, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the change, I think it's better now. I had this same problem with some of my userboxes too, until I found out how to change the font of a link.

Protected pages[edit]

If you check the edit history of the page the reason for protection will be in an edit summary when the protection was added. In the case of the article in question it was due to edit warring which occurs when editors keep reverting each others edits, the protection is such that only admins can edit which we arent suppose to do, there are exception to that. Your image request is one what you do is add {{Editprotected}} to the talk page with a note indicating what the problem is and how to remedy it. Alternative is if its not a big problem you could also just wait until the protection expires.

The policy information on this at WP:RFPP, here you can request page protection and unprotection as well. Gnangarra 01:42, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

mr flash, by all means i adopt "good faith" but i also adopt a good degree of intelligence on behalf of wikipedia "editors", therefore please investigate my issue because i myself was practising "good faith" by getting rid of the incorrect information in the first place

xxx

Could you explain why the recent edits were considered vandalism? Im having trouble editing the references but the recent reverted edits laid out a way that was clearest. What explicitly do I have to change?

How about i save everyone elses time by editing it myself? therefore providing a more efficient and effective wikipedia for us all, or is that too straight forward?

Jtoomer 01:12, 2 June 2007 (UTC) additionally, i have just discovered that the article i have discovered is wrong, has been checked by a robot....because its a biographical "stub", surely this backs up my theory that it is quicker and easier for a human to sort of obvious problems on the page...if you would like to have a look yourself, please read the article......mark randall, professional arsenal FC footballer[reply]

Jtoomer 01:20, 2 June 2007 (UTC) i understand your point of view entirely, everyone should have the right to discuss and debate articles in which the truth is hard to discover and is not entirely obvious. However, when such utter nonsense is written in an article about masturbation and "mr blobby" it shouldnt take a discussion on a "board" for it to be sorted it. The website states that any information on biographical articles which is obviously untrue should be changed immediately. I have since entered the problem into the 'Biographies of living persons Noticeboard' and hope that this form on electronic democracy works, eventhough in this case it is not necassary.[reply]

Jtoomer 01:23, 2 June 2007 (UTC) well that wasnt difficult was it sir, thank you (defeats the point of your option of the notice board though doesnt it?...just a "headsup" for you)[reply]

Jtoomer 01:26, 2 June 2007 (UTC) my sincere apologies madam, perhaps a more comprehensive profile would have helped ;) thanks for the help[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Hi Lemonflasher, Just wanted to thank you for the warm welcome, it is appreciated! Wishing you all the best. Regards, Einstein A.

Question[edit]

Dear Lemonflash, I am still learning the ins and outs of Wikipedia. Can you tell me if this is from you: Jtoomer 01:26, 2 June 2007 (UTC) my sincere apologies madam, perhaps a more comprehensive profile would have helped ;) thanks for the help[reply]

I know it reads Jtoomer but when clicked it brought me back to you. If so, did you want a profile from me?

Confused :) Einstein A.

Sorry[edit]

Thank you Lemonflash. I'm still learning. Einstein A.

Sarah[edit]

Something went haywire with my anti-vandal program. I went back and looked through the history. I think that I have now put up the correct version. Martinbot reverted one edit, but actually reverted to a vandalized version. I'll look at it again. thanks. Gaff ταλκ 01:13, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yup: you just reverted to a vandalized version [1]Gaff ταλκ 01:14, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hear you: there has been a lot here for the past hour! Gaff ταλκ 01:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"You asked why someone kept reverting your edits? Well it's a bot, and the information on there is just fine."

  • Some were a bot, some not. The information on that page is, apparently, not "just fine". That's why it has been given an "expert attention" flag. The technical information requested on the talk page is covered at North Pole and South Pole. There is no point rehashing all that again at Geographic pole. If Geographic pole were to be turned into a proper article (rather than a very barely enhanced dictionary definition) then it would only repeat what's already at North Pole and South Pole. What's the point of that? Better to just turn it into a redirect page IMO. Matt 01:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC).

Thank you[edit]

I appreciate Lemonflash and will give that a try. Einstein A.

Re: 'sacred cow' article ..[edit]

I have done couple of changes to 'sacred cow' adding a Picture of 'GowSala' a Cow-Shelter in Guntur, India, that protects Cows in that region. I am not sure why, but the changes were removed and the version of 'sacred cow' reverted back. Could you please explain why that is?

Thanks
