Johnny "J" claims

Until his death has been referenced in reliable sources, it is definitely not correct to include it on the page. We don't print rumours, and we don't run death reports based on one editor making a phone call, which would be considered original research. Tony Fox (arf!) 00:06, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:JohnnyJStudio.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:JohnnyJStudio.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 12:02, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Warnings

Hi there. Warning vandals is correct procedure, and I am happy for you to do that. Please note, however, that it is wikipedia policy to give a series of warnings, usually four, in an ascending hierarchy of firmness. Or threat. Please see WP:WARN. Exceptions are made in the case of seriously obscene, offensive or threatening vandalism, but this does not appear to apply where you have warned. But please do not take offence, and kep up the good work. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 12:39, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on The Light (Tatyana Ali album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Mdsummermsw (talk) 16:55, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Template:prod

Please stop re-adding {{prod}} to articles once it has been removed. Note that the template states that anyone can remove it - this includes anonymous editors and/or the author(s) of the article. If the prod is removed and you wish to pursue deletion, the correct procedure is to list the article at Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion. Thank you. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 08:21, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Kailin See

I have nominated Kailin See, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kailin See. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. -- Suntag 10:46, 17 October 2008 (UTC) -- Suntag 10:46, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Biggy Smallz

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Biggy Smallz, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Terrillja (talk) 21:43, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

October 2008

When adding links to material on an external site, as you did to Biggy Smallz, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. I have removed the youtube links. Do not link to songs on youtube. Terrillja (talk) 21:44, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

DYK for Dick Liddil

Updated DYK query On 16 November, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Dick Liddil, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thank you for your contributions! - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 10:52, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Mixing movies, novels, & history

Looking at your contributions is it possible that you are mistakenly imputing fictional information from Ron Hansen's novel, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and placing that information into the non-fictional articles on historical characters used in that book, including Jesse James, Bob & Charlie Ford, Dorothy Evans, Dick Liddil and others? Orphaned non-free media (File:Into the Storm.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Into the Storm.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:07, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
