Speedy deletion nomination of Azedia[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Azedia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —C.Fred (talk) 22:18, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Michelle Chamuel, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 22:26, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

License status of File:SeanMichaelSmith.JPG[edit]

Greetings! I see you uploaded File:SeanMichaelSmith.JPG to Wikipedia. There are contradictory license terms for the file. On the one hand, you say that the image is "specifically for Wiki", but then under the license terms, you indicate it's available for any use under the Creative Commons license.

Can you clarify about the license status? The image may need to be moved off of Commons and onto Wikipedia if it is not truly a free image. —C.Fred (talk) 22:30, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi C.Fred! Sorry if this is the wrong place to contact you in regards to the picture on Sean Michael Smith. This is my first time talking via this method. At Hearing Damage Studios, we took the picture of Sean for use online and in press. We simply meant in the description that the picture was formatted and chosen with wikipedia in mind. Sorry for confusion. The picture is free for all usage. Thanks for the patience and help. I'm sure you have to deal with a lot of people like myself getting into the swing of all this lingo. I will also keep in mind the other suggestions you've sent me the next time I make an edit. Thank you! If you have any comments or instructions for me, feel free to let me know. - User:LifeAquatic42 18:08, 18 November 2014

Since you're with the organization taking press photos, you have a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, LifeAquatic42. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Sean Michael Smith, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 02:43, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
