Do you have any sources regarding members of the Syrian Salvation Government?

I also considered separating Rouse the Believers from Salvation Gov, though couldn't find a source claiming they are separate so maybe it is a part of it after all. I do know however that Turkistan Islamic Party is a part of the salvation gov along with HTS, so it's not just HTS in it. A4516416 (talk) 08:46, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

No group is really "part" of the SSG. It's not like the Interim Government where they have a "Ministry of Defence" and a self-proclaimed "army". The SSG is basically the political wing of HTS and only HTS. The TIP are close military allies of HTS but they don't participate in its "government". Lightspecs (talk) 09:01, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Your message and reverts

Hi Lightspecs, thanks for leaving a message on my Talk page. I agree on your revert regarding the this edit, as I think I confused that article with this one (basically who is attacking and who is being attacked). My edit in the Tell Hamis page mentioning the clock square could have been fixed with a minor edit, rather than a revert. You also reverted my Tel Abyad edit, which is well sourced and citing an author that Kurds use all the time to support their claims (more or less pro-Kurdish). Can you explain your point? "Liberation" is POV unless it's named as such by the majority of reliable sources (ex. Liberation of Paris). There's also no reason to remove the Kurdish names of settlements when they're Kurdish minorities in them. Lightspecs (talk) 09:05, 16 October 2019 (UTC)

Changed "Liberation" in Tell Abyad to capture, although SDF and their supporters here use the word "Liberation" all the time. As for language, the presence of less than 10% Kurdish minority in the city does not warrant inventing a new name for it. I have left it however to show my good faith, although I am not convinced. Notability of Balyan Airstrike

Hello! I’ve noticed that you’ve changed the article on February 2020 Balyun Airstrike into a redirect due to a lack of distinctness. I don’t believe that is the case, as the article is much more notable by than the other airstrikes, to a point where it has received specific coverage from multiple organizations, and has provoked quite the “upset” response from the Turkish government. I’d say it’s probably notable enough for its own article. There should probably be a discussion before the article is removed Serafart (talk) (contributions) 05:16, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

Battle of Tell Hamis and Tell Brak (December 2013–January 2014)

Hi @Lightspecs: How goes it? You seem to have a penchant using dodgy sourcing. I removed the facebook ref after I reviwed the page, as its the worst of the lot. It may be the official mouthpiece of the organisation but it is a primary sps source and its unacceptable as a source. Don't use it. There are still five reference. Ref 3, 8, 11, 14 are also really poor. I understand it is a very recent event and its quite hard to find decent sources, but there really isn't a need for it. The current IRI emerged in 2020 not as a group in itself but a brand or network of pro-Iran Shia armed groups in Iraq. There's no source indicating any links, spiritual or otherwise, between it and the Sunni group. Lightspecs (talk) 04:40, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
