spelling corrections

spelling corrections within a file name

Thanks for reviewing the article on Birmingham, Alabama. The change you made from it's to its is within a file name and broke the link. I will restore the correct file name. The grammar is incorrect but can't be changed since it is a file name. Merbenz (talk) 23:07, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Asian contributors

Wow, just wow.

I honestly cannot comprehend how foolish I have been. I have completed four years of AP English, and a four year college degree and never learned this exception to possessives. The simple edit you made to Murder of João Hélio Fernandes Vieites made me review every paper I've written since ninth grade and not a single instructor corrected me. How could this have happened? Enmascarado / emmascarado

Hello, I see you're using an automated tool to help you correct spelling mistakes etc. in Wikipedia articles and that's great. There is one problem though, it's changing "enmascarado" to "emmascarado" which is wrong, the term is a spanish term and it's most definitely spelled "enmascarado" so if you would be so kind to watch out for that problem in the future it'd be great. Do you mean because it is difficult to maintain them? That they require constant monitoring? I agree that it is be a problem. The main articles on these people should be maintained better, so perhaps the list should rely on that reference only. Not sure what other lists do about this. Not only lists. German Violeta Dinescu opened with "currently shown at the Hamburg opera" - looking closer that was written 2004. In a way I regard the terms as meaningless without a date. In this and other long lists I find some remarks about time (and here: orchestra) helpful, compared to just names. Yep, I've changed those vague references to time many times. I don't find that "since" is a total cure, but it's better. It looks pretty awful, but the best presentation of fact is probably "1970-present (as of 2009)" or, better, would be some template that collected all such references that need updating for display on some project page. Please read the article, before you correct it without thinking

Some time ago you have corrected so-called "typos" in an article on George Joye. If you had cared to read the article, you would have realized that these are sixteenth century titles, which were presented in the original spelling. You are the third person to "correct" the sixteenth century spelling to modern spelling. Why do you correct an article without taking a look at its content or the discussion page? Yes, I like to remove apostrophe catastrophes whenever possible. :) I do searches on "to it's", "by it's", "around it's", etc... basically any preposition followed by "it's", which are almost always incorrect. I see you do too. It's a small thing, but it helps improve the grammar of the encyclopedia. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees and fixes these issues. I removed "commercial" in Buxtehude. It seemed to serve no purpose. I think Available media refers to the entire list and the graphic on the right is typical for sample music.

Hi, Gerda. Busy is good! I could not find any references to add. I think you just go with the more famous artists. It is a judgement call and no one is better suited to make that call than you. Maybe the most famous artists, those discovered there (if any) and a couple of the later ones. I noticed Lang Lang is prominent in the search. Another good job. Congrats! Another good job! Thanks so much! If you look at Lorch, Hesse, at the one and only ref (that I just inserted) you see a beautiful image of a concert location, - as a lilreward. (Perhaps you could also look at the rather German English of that article, if you have the time. I fixed just what I thought necessary around St. Martin, correcting the century ... - as wrong in German, as I found out ...) For artists I took the ones referenced (many of them dead by now) and will perhaps add a few personal friends, smile. - Other topic: I had an argument about the IPA of Buxtehude with someone who got the Danish(!) one from "Longman Pronunciation Dictionary" - but Buxtehude is really more of a German composer. That dictionary should get to know, but how? I inserted a German IPA along with the other one for the moment. - Back to RMF: we discovered Chanticleer (ensemble) in 2000 (Eric Alatore a basso profundo), ensemble amarcord in 2002 - not yet in this WP, Huelgas Ensemble in 2005, article last Decembre, and not by me! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:52, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your visit to Rüdesheim! "Ortsteil" (part of a town) sounds correct, but "outlying centre" would tell me that there is a centre to speak of - or not? Eibingen and Ehrenbach (that made me laugh) have a few hundred "souls", so and I dared to call one village and left the other.
