Notability of Theresa meeker[edit]

A tag has been placed on Theresa meeker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 15:56, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

March 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Judith Meeker has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): [a-z][0-9]+\.photobucket\.com/albums/.*\.(?:jpg|jpeg|gif|png|svg) (links: http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/nn61/theresameeke/?action=view&current=judytimemag.jpg, http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/nn61/theresameeke/?action=view&current=judy.jpg). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 17:24, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The version of the article that was deleted didn't say any of what you've placed on my talkpage, apart from a reference to the IMDb "Resume Fresh Faces Photo Gallery". Try re-creating the article in that form (cleaned up, perhaps) and it stands more than a chance of staying. Please note though that the IMDb isn't necessarily too reliable a source - reliable third-party sources would be appreciated. I'd like to draw your attention to these guidelines, though: WP:BIO regarding biographies, WP:BLP for special notes on biographies of living persons and the policy on verifiability and reliability of sources. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask. Tonywalton Talk 18:28, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to the page Theresa meeker has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. — raeky (talk | edits) 22:15, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Hi. Please could you stop editing the Theresa Meeker article on my talkpage. I have made a copy here - use that one for editing. Once it is up to scratch regarding the guidelines I mentioned above either move it yourself into "mainspace" (where encyclopædia articles live), give me a shout on my talkpage, or place {{helpme}} on this page (your talkpage) and someone will be along soon to help you out. The article does not need to be perfect, but it does need to cite reliable sources to establish notability of its subject. Please also remember that Wikipedia is not intended for any form of promotion either by the subject of an article or by those close to them - see WP:COI. Again though, please cease editing the article on my talkpage - I'll happily talk about the article itself but my talkpage is for talking to me, not for editing articles. Re: Theresa Meeker[edit]

Hi, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to comment on the article as it stands! The first thing I notice is a purely technical point - the article seems to be littered with reference tags which have no corresponding reference. See (for instance) Springwatch (as a completely random example) and you'll notice that clicking on [1], [2] etc throughout the text takes you to a corresponding link in the "References" section at the bottom of the page. (The ones above there don't work as I've simulated them so you can see what they look like). I can try to sort this out for you if you like, but it won't be immediate as I have things to do IRL!

Secondly, and rather more seriously, the article still does little or nothing to establish why the subject is notable in Wikipedia terms. There are strict guidelines for establishing the notability of entertainers, listed here and acting as (as the article says) an intern driver, a runway model (however worthy the cause) and being photographed for an advertisement don't seem to meet the criteria. The claimed connection with Mother Teresa is tenuous at best; there is a well-established principle on Wikipedia that merely being related to someone who is themselves notable does not in itself confer automatic notability - and in this case having volunteered at Mother Teresa's orphanage on the part of her father and sister is not particularly notable either (though admirable). The Shaun Silva connection may make the article worth saving, but to be honest I doubt it.

The reference to the "IMDb Resumé Fresh Faces Photo Gallery" seems to be simple self-promotion. As far as I can see that gallery is part of IMDb Resumé Services and allows you to add your own photo, as such this is not classed as a reliable source, which must be a verifiable and neutral third-party source (put another way if I paid $2.50 a month to IMDb and put my own picture up there would that make me notable? The answer is "no"). If I'm wrong about this "IMDb Resume Fresh Faces" gallery please set me straight and let me know where it says these photos are put up by an unbiased party.

Please don't take any of the above as intending any denigration of Theresa or her relatives and friends. Tonywalton Talk 19:50, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
