Online Health Communities[edit]

Hello, this is in reply to your question concerning the behaviour of the {{cite conference}} tag on Online Health Communities. The problem was that the "authorlink" parameter only supports internal links (to Wikipedia pages) and not external links (to other websites). I've fixed this.

Incidentally, although it is OK to cite one's own publications as a reference if they've been published by a reliable source such as a peer-reviewed journal, you may want to read WP:OR#Citing_oneself in this regard.

This is in reply to your question on your talk page. I've removed the sourcing tag. You may remove the wikify tag yourself - i.e., delete the text {{Wikify|December 2006}} - once you've wikified the article. To do that, you should make links to other articles where appropriate by enclosing words with double brackets ([[ ]]), format the lead (first sentence), and arrange section headers as described at Wikipedia:Guide to layout. Minor revisions[edit]

I'm sure that adding the link to eLearn Magazine seemed like a minor revision to you, but it actually doesn't meet the standards of what Wikipedia considers a minor edit. Basically, if you're just correcting a typo or changing formatting, that's minor, but anything that changes, adds, or deletes content shouldn't be marked as minor. If you mark it as minor, you should believe that it "could never be the subject of a dispute." Especially in this case, that's not true. First, external links are always subject to review. Second, you have a potential conflict of interest by adding a link to your own site. Now, I actually agree that eLearn Magazine is a valuable resource and meets the criteria for inclusion as an external link. That doesn't mean other editors will though, especially other editors who work in the field of e-learning and recognize your name as editor of eLearn magazine.

If I'm in doubt for my own edits, I always figure it's easier to err on the side of caution and not mark it as minor. If you don't check the "minor edit" box and you include an edit summary explaining what you're doing, it helps the other editors understand what changes you're making and why.
