Discretionary sanctions alert for WP:BLP[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

May 2020[edit]

Nope

The case of Ahmaud Arbery is a lynching. Other users are personally attacking and harassing me after they started an edit war. I have discussed this on a Talk Page, and the users harassing me simply move the goal post for when the term "lynching" can appear in the article. livingfract@lk 14:19, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss on the talk page, rather than edit warring. A similar statement will be placed on other involved editors talk pages. [1] Jacona (talk) 14:59, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please understand were not trying to harass you when revert your edits or disagree about what the article should be titled. If you feel other users are harassing you or making edits that you think are incorrect or biased, there's a solution, start a section on the article's talk page and ask other editors to give their own opinion on the matter. If a consensus is reached in favor of your arguments we will respect that consensus decision, and if consensus is against your argument, it's only that you respect that consensus opinion as well. Wikipedia is a sort of democracy and just like in real world democracies we individually vote but we can't dictate, we have to respect the process even when we believe it's made the wrong decision. If you want to make any edits that you personally think people might disagree with just go to the talk page and we'll figure it out, alright?--Kwwhit5531 (talk) 15:29, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
