Hello...[edit]

...and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed you undertaking newcomer tasks and that's great. It's good to see new users make an effort to learn their way around. That said, I reverted a recent edit you made to USS Hancock (CV-19), and this message is to explain why.

You made two changes, the first was to a template, changing a lower case letter to upper case; {{sclass}} → {{Sclass}}. This is an unnecessary change that has no effect on content, and in fact you will likely find that most editors prefer changes like this are not made.

The second change you made was to change a link; Battle star to Battlestar. The first one is an article, the second is a disambiguation page ("dab" for short). This is not a helpful change, as the information for this particular item is on the Service star page (which "Battle star" redirects to), while the second page is a dab, which is only a list of similarly named articles. Readers would have to take the extra step to of reading through that, just to get back to the first page. If you changed the link because the specific information was found in a lower part of the article, you will see in my edit that that can be resolved by linking directly to a section, like this; [[Service star#Navy warships|battle star]].

Hope it's helpful. - wolf 18:45, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

Okay so I have read the guide and I understand that you believe that my account is a sockpuppet to the other user but I can assure you that I am not a sockpuppet to that person I just simply have the same ip. (I think, I am not fully sure) Also I will respect your decision and I will stay off of Wikipedia while my request is being evaluated. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
