Your submission at Articles for creation: Ololade Adesola CMC (May 9)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reasons left by Sulfurboy were: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Overly promotional press release that even if the subject is notable would require WP:TNT to fix.

Hello Loop up. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Ololade Adesola CMC, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Loop up. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Loop up|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Sulfurboy (talk) 07:23, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Response to Sulfurboy[edit]

-- Hi Sulfurboy, nice to e-meet you and thank you for your message :) Yes, you are mistaken, the article Draft:Ololade Adesola CMC is not a paid advertisement and I am not in any way related to the subject. The article was written for the WikiGap Nigeria Online Challenge: a Nigerian public writing competition to create and improve articles that will strengthen Wikipedia coverage of Nigerian women. It is common knowledge that Nigerian women who are making strides are not being recognized on Wikipedia. As a citizen of Nigeria, I suppose my role is to fill the gaps on Nigerian Wiki? Some personal information about this subject are not made public to the online media, rather, passed within pages of magazines.

I also like to do things the right way and kicking against Wikipedia policies isn't of interest to me, so, thanks for the heads up. Let me know if you have any message or modifications for the article. Loop up (talk) 08:12, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Loop up, So you have no connection with the subject or conflict of interest you want to declare per WP:COI? Sulfurboy (talk) 09:09, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sulfurboy no working relationships, but of course, she is a popular figure in Ibadan Nigeria so I know her, but she probably doesn't know me.Loop up (talk) 09:15, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Loop up, So if you have no connection with the subject, how were you able to take this [1] professional headshot of the subject that you claim is your own work? Sulfurboy (talk) 09:20, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sulfurboy, just so you know, I recently got back on Wikipedia after over a year and half, and I'm still pretty new to the policies. The Nigerian Wiki community encouraged me to turn the red links blue, but even in becoming a pro, mistakes are not allowed? You make me feel so bad. Yes, I got the picture from an open source and I should have cited that, but I didn't know how. So I did it the way I was taught in my on-boarding class in 2018 - guess scenario was personal upload. If you feel it's not forgivable, sad but it's alright, considering I have wasted my time in the Nigeria WikiGap competition. Know for sure that I edit under the auspices of professional Nigerian Wikipedians and I will love to do things right. Thank you.Loop up (talk) 13:49, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Firstly, I do not know who Osaremi is, neither have I ever come across the name offline, until my account got flagged for socketpupetting. I noticed my account had been blocked during the recently concluded WIKIMEDIA NIGERIA's Wikidata 8th birthday here, which held in Ibadan.

I appreciate all the assistance I can get, as this, to me, is a false accusation. Thanks. Loop up (talk) 09:43, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You will need to explain the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Oseremi/Archive, i.e. why someone with the same IP address as you should be making similar edits. — O Still Small Voice of Clam 16:19, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
