Unspecified source for Image:Diptychsbma.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Diptychsbma.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:29, 31 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? MER-C 10:29, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the copyright violation warning from Glenn Bautista. I believe that much of the article was copied from the Yessy.com article about Bautista, and removing citations to that article only makes the copyright problem worse. As indicated in the warning, please do not edit this page until an administrator has resolved this issue. You can work on creating a non-infringing version on a subpage in the meantime. Thank you. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:52, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Glenn Bautista, copyright concerns[edit]

Dear Lorncruz:

With respect to copyright concerns at this page, it looks to be a slightly complicated matter, but not unresolvable, particularly as you are in communication with the artist. The host site, Yessy.com, explicitly does not claim ownership of material under their Terms of Service, which is good. The released by Mr. Bautista covers two of the necessary elements of a GFDL release. It specifically releases reuse for noncommercial and commercial duplication. It does not, however, mention modification, which is another release we specifically require. The best thing Mr. Bautista could do to clarify this matter quickly is to alter the release at the Yessy site specifically to note that the material is irrevocably released under GFDL (which can be linked here). At that point, we will be clear to use the information as long as we directly credit the preexisting article as the source. (This is true even if you are the author of both. Since Wikipedia does not require identity verification at account creation, we cannot legally take anybody's word on who they are.)

Another thing to consider is whether your connection with Mr. Bautista represents a conflict of interest—that is, whether your ability to write neutrally about the gentleman, utilizing only previously published reliable sources, is compromised. It's not impossible for you to contribute material on him even if you are very closely connected, but that "conflict of interest" guideline can be useful in helping you determine how to remain compliant with Wikipedia's policies as you do so. This will help prevent the article being deleted for other concerns.

I am also placing at the top of this page a "welcome" note which includes links to many potentially useful policies and guidelines. I see some other concerns within the currently blanked text that could be problematic, and a review of those may help you bring the article in line with Wikipedia's general guidelines and policies as well. For instance, I note you have some inappropriate links. This one, for example, does not comply with our external links guideline. We don't link to Wikis.

If you have any questions about how this material may be released, please let me know at my talk page. Otherwise, when Mr. Bautista has released the material as Wikipedia needs, please make a note with a link to where at the article's talk page. With respect to the other concerns I mention here, we have a variety of options for seeking help here, including a general help desk and one which is especially created for new contributors. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:09, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Glenn Bautista. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Little Red Riding Hoodtalk 06:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On Talk:Glenn Bautista, you said you would like to contest a statement which you described as having been made by me, "This version of the page has been revised. Besides normal editing, the reason for revision may have been that this version contains factual inaccuracies, vandalism, or material not compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License."

That's not something I personally wrote. It's a disclaimer that appears on every single "previous version" of a page in the edit history on Wikipedia. It means that one is looking at an older version of the page, not the current and most updated version. By comparison, if you look at a current version of a page, you will see instead, "This page was last modified on [date], at [time]. All text is available under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License. (See Copyrights for details.)" --Metropolitan90 (talk) 17:34, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Aapcoverbyglenn.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Aapcoverbyglenn.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cloudbound (talk) 20:09, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. Thank you. Cloudbound (talk) 21:09, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Jose Rizal poems.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
