Invitation to Admin confidence survey

Hello,

Beginning in September 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Anti-harassment tool team will be conducting a survey to gauge how well tools, training, and information exists to assist English Wikipedia administrators in recognizing and mitigating things like sockpuppetry, vandalism, and harassment.

The survey should only take 5 minutes, and your individual response will not be made public. This survey will be integral for our team to determine how to better support administrators.

To take the survey sign up here and we will send you a link to the form.

We really appreciate your input!

Please let us know if you wish to opt-out of all massmessage mailings from the Anti-harassment tools team.

editing

Hi Laura, editing is going great. Sometimes it is hard to read the code in the editor screen. But other than that everything is going well! Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Westma1985 (talkcontribs) 21:30, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!

Thanks for coordinating Wikipedia:Meetup/UMass Amherst/Black-women-suffragists. I put the event in Category:Wiki Loves Open Access Week 2017. I know there are several of these events happening but there is no central coordination.

I have some unsolicited advice - we in NYC use the dashboard to track events. If you wish, use it for yours. Using it means posting this link to the meetup page and getting participants to click on it. If you do this, then you get a report of outcomes and media metrics. We use these reports as evidence to institutions of the impact of the event.

It is easy to set up, but since the event is tomorrow, I made an event page for you. Use it or not as you like. Even if you choose to not use it during the event, after the fact if you wish, you could add participant usernames to the interface to generate a report.

Thanks for doing an open access event. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:40, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

Thanks, Bluerasberry -- We actually did set up a dashboard, here: https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/UMass_Amherst/Black_women_suffragists -- it is our first time using it, so we'll need to figure that out. But thank you so much for getting involved -- I didn't know about Wiki loves OA week, for instance. --Lquilter (talk) 20:08, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

Great, glad you are using it. If you want to chat by phone or video about the dashboard sometime then let's talk after. Good luck with your event. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:24, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Lquilter. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of environmental periodicals, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Unity College (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
