Hi, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your contribution! Wikipedia has three commonly-accepted citation styles. A single article should use one of these styles consistently. The most common style is the full citation footnote. On the article GHB you added citations in the parenthetical style while the rest of the article uses the footnotes style, so your additions didn't match the rest. For example:

Parenthetical style: (Scrima L., Hartman P., Johnson F.H., Hiller F.C. Efficacy of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) vs placebo in treating narcolepsy-cataplexy: double-blind subjective measures. Biological Psychiatry 1989, 26:331-343)
Footnotes style: <ref>{{cite|author1=Scrima L.|author2=Hartman P.|author3=Johnson F.H.|author4=Hiller F.C.|title=Efficacy of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) vs placebo in treating narcolepsy-cataplexy: double-blind subjective measures|journal=Biological Psychiatry|year=1989|volume=26|pp=331-343|doi=10.1016/0006-3223(89)90048-6 }}</ref>
