Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Paws and whiskers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. -- LuK3 (Talk) 17:12, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Paws and whiskers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not seem to meet WP:NBOOK: no references to reviews or other third-party sources are given.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. How do I improve my book article?[edit]

How do I improve my book article? Please note that Jacqueline has collected extracts from other books. LuckyStar10 (talk) 14:52, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You would need to cite reliable sources such as newspaper articles about the book or published book reviews to clearly establish that the book is notable enough for an article. Right now you mention two book reviews but provide no reference - see WP:Referencing for beginners on how to easily cite your references. The book reviews' comments sections, however, are useless for Wikipedia's purposes - unless a clearly reliable source had commented on them, which I rather doubt.
On an unrelated note, you should copyedit the draft for spelling, you should check the link targets (for example, Tibetan links to a disambiguation page, and it's unclear whether it should refer to Tibetan Mastiffs or Tibetan Spaniels), and you should clarify what the "Pets' corner" section is about. Is that a chapter in the book? Were any of the texts collected there custom-written for it?
Finally, you should provide some basic information on the book. When, where and by what publisher was it published? Is anything known about the writing history, or where Wilson got the idea for the book from? For what ages is the book meant? Are sales figures known; did it make any bestseller lists? The article currently answers none of these rather basic questions. Huon (talk) 17:58, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
