I don't know whether you have any hostility with me or not. But its very unfortunate that there are so many articles which I have created, either you have deleted those or You have redirected those to a new page which you have created (simply you take those new creation into your account) Just as I've created a page Al Islam which you redirected to your created page. and recently I've created a few cricket series articles, but you have deleted all those and created yourself. Cricket30500 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

This user Cricket30500 has been using inappropriate comment against me in my talk page in his native language, Hindi. I kind of understand because I live nearby. I deleted the comments twice. Do know how to take action against him or where to report? Human (talk) 15:58, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I've noticed their edits of late, and I see nothing good about them. I don't think it'll be too long before this will be raised at WP:ANI. Let me know if the comments continue, and I'll take it forward, if needed. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:37, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Another thing

Have a look at this link. ICC have added more T20Is in the calendar. Should articles about these tournaments be made? Human (talk) 15:10, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

The short answer is no. There was a discussion at WT:CRIC last year not to start articles on T20I matches for these lower-ranked sides now that the ICC has revised its criteria on the match status. Same with the players who play in them. This was updated at WP:CRIC#STYLE: Seasons - "For articles on international seasons, such as International cricket in 2018–19, only include tours and competitions that meet the requirements of the player notability, above". And this refers to "has appeared as a player for an Associate team in a Twenty20 International match after 1 July 2018 in either a World T20 (men or women), Global Qualifier (men or women) or Regional Final (men only)" under WP:CRIN. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:15, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Statistics on Ranji Trophy pages

Shouldn't there be statistics in Ranji Trophy pages ? . Domestic First Class competitions like County Championship (eg: 2018 County Championship) and Sheffield Shield ( eg: 2018-19 Sheffield Shield season) has that. Even Ranji Trophy has it for previous season's articles. Curnews (talk) 05:51, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Hi. They seem to be throwbacks to the days of including them for inclusion sake. They really shouldn't be added, per WP:NOTSTATS. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:48, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for the reply. But WP:NOTSTATS mentions excessive lengthy listings that lacks context and explanations.Top 5 Most Runs,Most wickets would not be lengthy or out of context. Moreover, placed in tables, would enhance its readability as stated in WP:NOTSTATS. Curnews (talk) 09:12, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Ideally, only the top run-scorer and wicket-taker needs to be mentioned, in prose in the article's body. The tables are incredibly esoteric - nobody really cares about the batting average of the third-highest run-scorer in X tournament, or how many 50s the fifth-best batsman got. All of thise can be found in the specialist sites off-Wiki for those who really need to know that kind of stuff. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:18, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

If only that were true. Bored deletionism has destroyed our project and will continue to do so. Please keep in mind that deletionism (refusal to accept guidelines) and exclusionism (wishing to move the goalposts) are two different things. Heck, we both know that the cricket project is just about to become a whole lot more "inclusionist" - if such a thing exists! Bobo. 19:08, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

T20 Players

Hi there. Thanks for the update regarding player notability in regard to nations that have been given T20I status in 2019. I was unaware that playing in a T20I was no longer adequate (unless it is in a regional qualifier, global qualifier, etc). Could you clarify a couple of points? 1) Is playing in a T20I outside of these competitions enough for a player from a Full Member? Although now I say that I imagine such players will have already met other criteria such as playing first class, List A or T20 cricket in a major domestic competition anyway. 2) Many of the players in the Qatar squad already have pages despite not having played in such matches, only low level World Cricket League matches that do not even have List A status, and T20 qualifiers that did not even have 'T20' status. Surely a full T20I is more notable that those matches, but I assume this is due to updated guidelines meaning those players perhaps wouldn't pass notability now.

Cheers as always for your work and help. You will have noticed that I am somewhat of a stats man, and I love anything related to international sport hence happy to see these new nations competing in T20I matches... which is a good thing for the sport as it always seemed odd when certain matches didn't count (even in global qualifiers!).Bs1jac (talk) 22:07, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

DisambigProject tag on talk pages

Hi. It's usually best to avoid creating talk pages if all they are going to contain is the {{DisambigProject}} template (you can see the template's documentation for links to the discussions that led to this probably surprising at first state of affairs). Hindering the improvement of an FA class article

Hello MR.Lugnuts. This message is about a serious matter of vandalism done by a wikipedian named RegentsPark on the page of Eddie Vedder. As you can see that the Legacy section in the forementioned article needs to be expanded. So helping the community to solve the problem, I added a quotebox which consist of a quote by Roger Daltrey about Eddie which has more than 40 words, none of which has been altered and so it is obliges to all the laws and rules of Wikipedia. But RegentsPark removed it just because i am a sockpuppet. I won't try to defend myself because i know nobody wants to understand. Now here comes the vandalism, even if i am a sockpuppet than you should block me but not revert the edit unless it is disruptive. The edit was not disruptive in any way as you can check by yourself but still regent vandalised by hindering the development of the article. Please address him about it as he won't listen to me. Even if i am a sockpuppet, i have always tried to help this platform but provocation caused me to commit a mistake which i am sorry about. Hello mate. I know this isn't important but I might become an Aussie. My father has dual citizenship of Bangladesh and Australia and visits between the two countries. Unfortunately I never went there and still is stuck in Bangladesh. Now that I will be going to an Australian university, I might enjoy games at the MCG.... Human (talk) 18:54, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Haha! Loved that note about ICC. They are more busy about IPL than international matches. I smell money here... Human (talk) 16:20, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

It's something that drives me mad! Certain ICC tournaments have virtually zero coverage on their own site. I'm pretty sure there wasn't a media release for the conclusion of the last Americas T20I qualifier group about who won the thing! And then you get the opposite, with the U19 tournament in Namibia having no fewer than six media releases in a week! Anyway, enough of my rantings - hope your hand is getting better and you're back to being 100% as soon as. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:25, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
Exactly. If ICC doesn't take any measures and doesn't give importance to associate nations then cricket won't be a global sport in near future as expected. This is where they lack compared to football. They already made a bad decision by making the World Cup a 10 team tournament. Human (talk) 16:40, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

Please stop making personal attacks. WP is built on a consensus, which you didn't like. You tried to change it, but no-one supported your view. Mr Lugnuts... I had agreed to associate cricket being ignroed by WP just like ICC does... But why can't it be put in templates? Ain't templates suppsoe to help a user navigate through different pages? --Ankurc.17 (talk) 08:26, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
Suggestion - Can we put it as a separate heading for Associate T20I tournaments like International tournaments (Tri-Series, quadrangular) are separated out!

And please also see the updated cricket notabilty, which states "Have appeared as a player for an Associate team in a Twenty20 International match after 1 July 2018 in either a World T20 (men or women), Global Qualifier (men or women) or Regional Final (men only)". So this cricketer fails that notability. The vast majority of Associate cricketers playing in these type of T20I or WT20I are not notbale. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:53, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello,

As this cricketer is playing in 2019 ICC Women's Qualifier Asia, which is regional qualifying tournament for the next Women's 50 over World Cup qualifier well as Women's T20 World Cup qualifier, I feel this page should stay. For players playing the matches that are being played under the tournaments which are ramifications from the World T20 tournaments, creation of separate Wikipedia Page can be considered.

What do you do all day?

I'm guessing you're possibly retired? You seem to just spend all of your time on the Wikipedia cricket pages editing anything and everything. You also seem to delete things other users have done just so you can do it yourself. Earlier, you reverted one of my edits as "unsourced" but that isn't really a proper reason for reversion when what was being said is true. 2 minutes later you added the same thing but with a source. Why not just add the source? The pride of putting something on here for others to read is shared by me too.

P.S. Good effort Ireland. At least they didn't completely crumble. Linkiscool99 (talk) 21:36, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

I work full time, thanks for asking. But you should really add a source for everything you add. That's the whole point of WP, right? To source content to verify that it's true? Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 05:58, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

I suppose so but I'm fairly sure you don't need to just revert it either. I thought reversion was for when the edit is either vandalism or completely false. Anyway, thank you for the work you do on these cricket pages. I always wonder how you're so fast! Linkiscool99 (talk) 14:48, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! It's just force of habit to remove unsourced info that I come across. I don't discriminate! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:55, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi

Hey. I hope you would be fine, I just want to let you know that I'm extremely sorry for what happened last night. I didn't remove your message by myself, neither I know exactly how your message got removed, May be this happened because of my phone, my phone misbehave due to slow internet sometimes, and as you know, I got into an argument with a user and he called me arrogant multiple times which really hurt me and with so much that was going on (edit-warring), I couldn't read your message on time. I was going to reply you much earlier in the day but due to some work I couldn't. Thanks. The Floka (talk) 13:17, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Dont' worry about it - you were probably typing a reply the same time as I was, and these things happen. Seems like quite a few Oscar pages were vanidlized several months ago

Not sure what happened, but I am finding tons of them linking to the wrong people, wrong pages now thanks to one user who was vandalizing them. You might want to be on the look out (I was linking to the wrong person since I thought there was a mistake but turned out to be the guys son.)Wgolf (talk) 00:58, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Oh on another note-it seems there are pages for all the Oscar winners this year-but only kind of. For example-the sound editors pages of Boheiam Rhapsody go to the film and are redirects. Not sure what to do about all of those. (I do think some of these guys who were nominated do need pages sometime, problem is it's harder to find info for the tech cat people and it's not as lenient as it use to be to add them) Wgolf (talk) 20:17, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
TBH, I've not really paid that much attention to this years' Academy Awards, save for the Foreign Language category. If you can find an interview or two for each nominee, then feel free to change the redirect to a basic stub. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 20:19, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

The Dead Lands

Not sure why you keep removing {{short description}}. It is used on well over 1,000,000 pages. Just because you created The Dead Lands doesn't mean you get to keep removing a template that you don't like. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:07, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Per the Short Description page - "It is not one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community". Can you let me know when it has been thoroughly vetted by the community? Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:55, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Are you aware that the short description visible on the Wikipedia app and by anyone searching using the mobile interface (i.e. well over half of our readers) will see the description provided by Wikidata?
If so, are you content to see LeBron James's article on the English Wikipedia have the short description "loves dick" with no obvious way for an editor on the English Wikipedia to fix that vandalism, which occurred on Wikidata? See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Short descriptions #WikiData's description visible.
Would you also be content to see Bernie Saunders described as "Jewish politician" on the English Wikipedia, despite it violating WP:ETHNICITY because Wikidata doesn't have that policy and has no reason to object to that description there?
If you don't want to see such problems grow, then the onus is on you to explain how editors here can prevent them. Those of us who want to avoid such problems have started moving control of short descriptions back to the English Wikipedia by using the template {{short description}}. The encyclopedia would benefit if you decided to join us, rather than opposing the work done. --RexxS (talk) 17:23, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Of course, there's never ever any vandalism here. Maybe better anti-vandalism filters on Wikidata would be the best step. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:26, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Netflix

Have you seen Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians on Netflix? Eschoryii (talk) 17:49, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Nope, I don't have Netflix. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:50, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
As an American, I saw my first cricket match. Eschoryii (talk) 20:55, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
Haha, excellent! When I was on the West Coast in Nov/Dec 2013, I tried my best to find anywhere that would show The Ashes, but without any luck. Probably for the best... :D Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 20:57, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Re: Kelly Catlin

Trying to get to the end of these UCI Women's Teams rosters; think I've only got three more to do, which has taken ages! Alas, the reports of Kelly Catlin's death appear to be genuine, judging by Kathryn Bertine's tweet here. Shocking news - only 23 as well. Craig(talk) 17:36, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

VeloNews confirm now... Craig(talk) 17:57, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Sad news. Thanks for your help. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:05, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Such a talented pursuitist. This rider journal from Catlin on VeloNews and as Richard Moore put it on Twitter: "It'd probably be wrong to read too much into it, but of course you do..."
I believe Lviv Cycling Team (men's team) have added the women's squad for 2019, so I believe that they, along with the new women's team from the World Cycling Centre, are the only ones without articles. Lviv, Sopela, WCC & Charente-Maritime are the only ones (41 of 45) without an accompanying template of riders. as far as I am aware... Craig(talk) 20:54, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Ralph Faulkner Unsourced Why?

Hi there! Just wondering why you deleted a majority of the Faulkner page. It was noted as uncited. My contribs came from a biographical section from The Art and Science of Fencing, written by one of Faulkner's students. Was it not cited properly? Not enough diversity of sources? Any info would help. Thanks alot! Mduboef (talk) 08:03, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Virtually all of it was unsourced, with this diff implying that only his death details were sourced with the update. Each "fact" in each section would need to be sourced. Such as he became a forest ranger and that he moved from Washington to New York. The part about breaking his knee, etc, etc. Hope that helps. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:08, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

I moved a page you created / + a doubt

Just now I had to create a page Pratik Sinha which you had originally created related to a cricketer. I shifted your article to Pratik Sinha (cricketer). Hope that's ok. But I also just want to ask, do you think Pratik Sinha (cricketer) is notable enough to stay on Wikipedia (even now?). I don't work on sporting articles much so I will leave it to your discretion. Regards. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 06:35, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for the heads-up. Yes, the cricketer is notable, per WP:NCRIC. This individual has now played in several first-class cricket matches. Hope that helps. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:44, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation. Does help. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 17:19, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

ICC Team of the Year

Hi Lugnuts! {{ICC Team of the Year}} contains teams from 2015 to 2017 only. If it is updated from 2004 to 2018, it will be very large template. Should it be updated or deleted? What do you think? ~SS49~ {talk} 12:16, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi! Personally, I think it should be deleted. It's not really a "squad" as such, just a best-of team. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:22, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
Please help nominate the template for deletion. Thanks ~SS49~ {talk} 12:35, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Looks like something is odd with some of the IMDB names-or they only allow a certain number

Like I found this one on the new page feed-Sameera Sherief I put her IMDB link, yet it keeps on going to another person. Not sure who to contact about that though. Wgolf (talk) 19:51, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Looks like her IMDB link is one digit longer than what the current template on WP supports. Hers is 10120013, while the other guy is 0120013. Looks like the first digit is trimmed off for some reason. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:55, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
not sure who we can tell about that issue too-maybe you can contact them? Thanks. Wgolf (talk) 19:56, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
Probably best if you raise it here and let the Film and Actor projects know. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:57, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Being at 93 is a remarkable event when there is no Bands like Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Iron Maiden in the whole ranking. It is a ranking combining all genres not just rock so you better should lay more stress on what you are doing. Being at 93 for guys like you and other guys may not mean nothing because all your lives (including me too) we have sucked and have just been editing shit over here but it will mean when you will achieve even a trillionth of it. Low level peoples like you are continuously vandalising wikipedia. Just shut your mouth and ask for a consensus or i will smash you how nice of you. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:12, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Look Lugnuts, sometimes editing wikipedia can be a bit irritating. Specially when you have worked too much on it. The same happened to me. I regularly edit wikipedia with an average of 14-15 edits per day. Adding to that my semester exams are going on which has a resultant stress on me so therefore i got a bit frustated when you reverted my edits twice. I didn't mean to personally attack you but i accept that my language was not so good. Anyways, this was a proposal by me to bury the hatchet. Have a nice day and Just Breathe.

Suddenly you've taken an interest in this article? How strange. I'd like to believe you. I'll keep the diffs handy for now. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:57, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Cricket has been my fav sport for a long time. No sudden interest. Just saw some info missing so added that. --Ankurc.17 (talk) 12:59, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
International cricket in 2014–15 please refer to West Indies abandoned tour of India... The tour was originally scheduled to include tests and T20Is but when the tour was abandoned, such changes were reflected in season overview. I was applying same logic when Zimbabwe's tour entry in Season overview was removed. --Ankurc.17 (talk) 08:44, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
WP:CCC. Based on that, then the 3rd Test for NZ/Ban should be removed. But that would be wrong too. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:47, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

The Favourite

You appear to have experience editing the film article for Dogtooth by Lanthimos with some success. I've recently done some citations clean-up on The Favourite and have been looking for someone who likes Lanthimos though has not edited his new film in order to do a GAN assessment. The article is looking fairly good and I thought to mention this in case you might be able to take up the GA assessment. Now that the DVD has been released what do you think? CodexJustin (talk) 18:08, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for considering me for this, however I've not seen the film, and I'm unlikely to do so, as it's not really my cup of tea. Sorry! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:58, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

Estonia cricket

Big clue in this is that the Estonia games are not listed at https://www.icc-cricket.com/mens-schedule/calendar and Cricinfo lists them as "Estonia XI" games not Estonia Topcardi (talk) 13:52, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
