Regarding Wikipedia's policy on copyright

There's a reason that there is such a strict policy. Copyright is something that is legally binding and we have to make sure that we're not infringing copyright by placing such media on Wikipedia or other Wikimedia sites. Also, Wikipedia is a 'free encyclopedia' under the GNU GFDL license which means that it's supposed to be not copyrighted. Just to let you know why, ^GB86 01:45, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs

Hi.

I saw your 15:46, 15 September 2013 edit on Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs and I am afraid this is not true at all. Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, all editions of Windows Server, Windows 2000 and all Windows 9x let user do that. Windows 3.1 is not an OS but it allows that too.

Office 2010

Hi.

I've reviewed your edits in Microsoft Office 2010 article. It seems your intentions were to improve accuracy but you ended up doing the opposite.

For example, you have added "x64 version of" to "A 64-bit version of Office 2010 is available, although not for x64 version of Windows XP or Windows Server 2003." But now, the sentence does not rule out that a 64-bit version might be available for IA-32 versions of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Longer is not always better.

Do not make any more edits without describing the content or nature of your edit, and directly justifying why the edit was truly necessary to the encyclopedia, such as establishing WP:N notability. Your actions are confusing, and waste the energy of other editors. Please stop adding WP:TRIVIA WP:NOTMANUAL WP:NOTHOWTO WP:OR even if WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, as you did with this. Stop writing up your own ideas, and stop adding any information that isn't WP:N according to secondary WP:RS reliable sources, as you correctly did here. Your lack of a discussion here, and instead giving a stubbornly defiant statement on your user page (which is Wikipedia's property, not a user's own weblog or personal repository of stuff) shows that you think that we're just giving you suggestions. We are not. We are clearly giving you direct links to the policy and guidelines defining what an encyclopedia is and is WP:NOT. All editors absolutely must read and understand those. Reliable sources

Hello. I wanted to explain why I reverted an edit of yours. The problem is that you cited the IMDb. Please don't cite the IMDb or import its data into Wikipedia, especially in a biography of a living person. The IMDb is a useful external link, but it is user-generated, which means it can't be cited on Wikipedia. Reliable sources should be staffed by professional journalists or academics, have a history of fact-checking, and editorial oversight. Websites like the IMDb, while useful as a casual resource, fail this requirement. This is very important in biographical articles because we need high quality sources to make sure that our information is correct. Crowd-sourced information should never be added to these articles. Everyone makes mistakes, and Wikipedia can be very confusing for people who are not well-versed in Wikipedia's technical and social antecedents. If you continue like this, you'll probably be blocked. I don't understand why you're treating the entirety of English Wikipedia as if it's a sandbox or why you're leaving little comments and notes in encyclopedia articles. Efn vs Clarify

Hello, Luigi. This is almost the exact same message you received in April of last year (see § Ref vs Clarify above), as you seem to have not yet grasped the different purposes of these tags. When you add a <ref> tag it is to point to a source. Use the {{Efn}} tag to add an explanatory footnote; that it, you are telling the reader something beyond what is in a source citation. What you very want to use, it seems, is the {{Clarify}} tag, which lets you insert a question for other editors to (we hope) eventually notice and clarify.

I just replaced one such of your additions to Xiaomi from New Year's Day. Over at NTFS, one of your additions of an {{Efn}} from today was edited within an hour to clarify the text, but you should have used {{Clarify}} there. The edit you labelled "Added explanatory footnote..." actually was one, so well done there.

Also, when you do use {{Efn}} in the correct way, there should be a section like Notes which contains the {{notelist}} tag. This lets people see all the explanatory footnotes on the page in one section, usually above the References section.

Please pay more attention to the details of these things. Wikipedia has lots of complicated nooks and crannies, but since you use (and misuse) these things so often, it would worthwhile to learn the differences and their proper use.
