Welcome to Wikipedia, Luiseanna09! I am Dougweller and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Personal information[edit]

Hi, Luiseanna09, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm here to talk to you a little bit about putting personal information on the internet. The edits you already made had to be removed for a couple of reasons. First, they didn't really fit into the articles in which you placed them, but, more than that, they seemed to be giving out information that could be dangerous, because they could lead to people tracking down you or your friend. It's not a good idea to tell people your real name or your friends' real names or where you live (even just the town). Most of the people you meet on Wikipedia will be friendly, but not all of them are, and you can't always tell which kind you're talking to. Before giving out that kind of information to strangers on the internet, you should check with your parents to make sure it's a good idea. On Wikipedia, we just remove it, but sometimes web sites don't take it down, and it could be up there forever.

I'll be watching your talk page for a couple of days. If you want to talk about this or if you need help with something, you can leave a note here. You can also come to my talk page; you'll reach it by following the word "talk" after my username. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:57, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
