How you can help

Welcome Mr. Jenkins, I hope you find the links above helpful. Another thing you should read is our conflict of interest guideline, as it seems very clear that you qualify. You should make clear at the relevant article talk pages that you are directly related, and rather than changing articles yourself, propose changes first at the article talk page. This doesn't apply to reverting obvious vandalism, but it does apply to changes and reverts which promote your own view of how your organization should be written about. If any article edits you make could be seen as even remotely self-serving, you'll be much better off using the talk page first.

As far as uploading an image, after four days and 10 edits, you will become autoconfirmed anyway. I will consider setting your confirmed permission now if you can give me a satisfactory response on how you will manage COI. Regards! Franamax (talk) 20:25, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

Franamax, I have read a number of the links above. As I expect to happen with the Independence Party of Minnesota page, the COI page has some very interesting conflicts of its own (some pro COI and some anti COI). That being said, I see Wikipedia and the Independence Party of Minnesota page as a platform for facts and not a platform for debate on issues. As Chair of the party, I do serve as the voice of the party. In that regard, I don't see my partisipation in the editing of this page as a conflict. I do, however, understand the concept of Wikis and COI and will continue to use the comments field to explain the edits I make so that readers understand why I make the changes I do. I can also assure you that I will not be lurking on the page to review and squash each and every edit. I merely intend to update the content and check back periodically to see what others have contributed.

Also, as Chair of the party, I have the rights to images like party logos and images.

Thank you for your comments,

Mark --MEJMNIP (talk) 15:06, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
