Please leave the images found on Wikicommons on the pages. As mentioned on the Wikipedia:Copyrights page:

It is preferred that these be obtained under the most free (libre) license (such as the GFDL or public domain) practical. In cases where no such images/sounds are currently available, then fair use images are acceptable (until such time as free images become available).

In both cases, the images on the page are from lukeisback.com, and both are licensed under the Creative Commons regime. The images you contributed are only tagged as fair use. Free trumps fair in this instance. Tabercil 01:18, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Courtney Simpson Throated 4 (cropped).jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Courtney Simpson Throated 4 (cropped).jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Tabercil 20:45, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image change[edit]

Please do not remove content from Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Tabercil 00:50, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • As I said before, Wikipedia prefers free use pics over fair use pics. Tabercil 00:50, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to remove content from pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Please stop. Your continued reverts to a fair use pic is not appropriate. As I stated before:
It is preferred that these be obtained under the most free (libre) license (such as the GFDL or public domain) practical. In cases where no such images/sounds are currently available, then fair use images are acceptable (until such time as free images become available). (emphasis added)
You are continuing to revert back to fair use images in cases where free use images are readily available. If you continue, you will be blocked. Tabercil 03:47, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from editing. Tabercil 03:47, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please find a free use alternative because I'd like to see an image up for Mena Suvari (there wasn't one previously) but can't find a free use or at least fair use. I just want an attractive image put up. Mactabbed 00:03, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hmm... there's this image which is tagged as Creative Commons, and has subtags that are Wikipedia compatible. Problem is that Mena's on the far right of the image, and that part is a bit overexposed as she's lost in the glare of the background. Probably going to take a fair bit of work in Photoshop to rescue her from that pic. If you do decide to use the image, make sure you tag the uploaded as Creative Commons, and clearly put the URL of where the original image was on Flickr. Image:Aliciaalighattisfs.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aliciaalighattisfs.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 15:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as you are repetitively introducing original research into the Michael Richards article concerning the notion of insult comedy I am going directly inform you that inclusion of such material needs to be verifiably and reliably sourced. Failure to do this will see such material removed from the article. (Netscott) 04:20, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Fallout2original.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fallout2original.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:24, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Fallout2original.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fallout2original.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:47, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Frankwolf.jpg[edit]

File:Frankwolf.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:FrankWolf photo.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:FrankWolf photo.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 21:20, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Alexis Malone[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Alexis Malone. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alexis Malone. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
