test1?[edit]

Why did you put {{test1}} on User talk:Aleenf1? He did nothing to deserve it. Ashibaka tock 08:13, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I notice that you've been using the rollback tool to revert good faith, reasonable changes ([2] [3] and others) Although Wikipedia:Revert does not limit it to vandalism, that is it's intent, and I believe that it is innapropriate to use it in this way. Additionally, {{test}} should absolutely not be used the way you did here. You didn't even {{welcome}} him! It's unnacctable to treat newcomers this way. Please consider your use of the rollback tool and your treatment of new users more carefully in the future.--Sean|Black 08:34, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, User:Aleenf has added a lot of incorrect (and redundant) information to the Race pages. (User:Falconsgladiator had also been fixing some of his/her edits.) For example, he/she incorrectly stated that a contestant had competed on two editions of the Race. He/she also added redundant details without realizing that they had already been discussed in earlier sections of articles. Aleenf was also highlighting details of a contestant's short height (due to dwarfism), which was completely unecessary and inflammatory (per WP:NPOV. Similar remarks had previously been removed; currently there's no mention saying so-and-so were the heaviest/tallest/ contestants on the Race. A {{test1}} template may seem somewhat harsh, but given the circumstances and erratic edits, it was more than justifable. --Madchester 08:47, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so they were crappy edits, but I still think they were in good faith, and that's what you should assume when a new user makes a mistake; that's why test1 refers to tests rather than vandalism. Also, please don't change {{test1}} to {{welcome}} after the fact, that's just rude. Ashibaka tock 09:18, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you deleted my article on hip hop references. Granted, most people in the discussion on it voted for deletion. I believe it's worth having an article about to track different trends in hip hop culture and its perceptions of mainstream culture. HK 7-11s[edit]

Well, OK, but using "literally" suggests that at a crossroads/intersection (sorry - don't know which you'd use in Canadian English!) there would be four 7-11s, one on each corner! I think what really irked me about the sentence I removed is the way people use "literally" when they mean "almost"... But if you think the sentiment behind the deleted sentence stands, please do re-word and reinsert! Regards, CLW 15:12, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can I get you to help me with a mediation I'm conducting at Talk:Neuro-linguistic programming? I stepped in with an outside view and was immediately personally attacked. Adam and andrew[edit]

It was never cleared as to which category it fell into, but seems mainly to fit into WP:WEB. If so:

Content which has been packaged into material form, such as onto CD, DVD or book form, but which is still primarily only available for sale via the internet, still falls under these guidelines. If such packaging of the product is widely available for sale in major brick and mortar retailers, then it should be considered a product, for which see Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations).

Therefore at least the CD created by Adam and Andrew is verifiably and notably suitable for Wikipedia, if not everything on the article.

The notability of the Numa numa song, much in the same way, cannot be proved, except that the first host, Newgrounds, falls under notable websites - and even in that case, Adam and Andrews most popular internet resource, Myspace is notable.

—Preceding unsigned comment added by WillFirminger (talkcontribs)

The Numa numa song is verifiable and notable, as evidenced by a full article in the New York Times, a major media publication. --Madchester 17:34, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the Numa numa suggestion, not particularly familiar with the subject, seemed too stupid to warrant any kind of interview to me.

I have, however, found an almost identical group called The Icy Hot Stuntaz, which contains almost exactly the same kind description as I implemented on the Adam and Andrew article, only with less information on them, no album information, less links and a picture.

I cannot believe I am fighting for this article so much, but I am sure I am right in thinking that the method in which my article was weighed up, speedily deleted and considered deletion material by so many people with no adequate reason, was completely unfair.

Super Bowl XL[edit]

Can you please refer me to any POV statements i made on the Super Bowl XL article? 68.71.35.93 08:26, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There were too many to count, but here's one example: "despite the fact that Locklear not only grabbed Haggan's face mask but also held the jersey above Haggan's right shoulder for an extended period of time." Hi Madchester, I would just like to bring your attention that you can substitute user warning templates as per Wikipedia:Template substitution. This will reduce the server's workload. Your revert[edit]

The medal table is based upon gold medal dominance. Just because you are bitter doesn't mean you can revert edits to make it less humiliating for you. Haizum 03:04, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Beckie Scott revert[edit]

What are you talking about? I simply added the newer and much nicer looking medals table to the page of my favourite Olympian. Then you slap me with a second level warning? Classy. --142.59.101.81 17:00, 19 February 2006 (UTC

I do apologize for losing my cool a little, however I repectfully disagree with your assertion that you were trying to be helpful in fixing my mistakes. Being helpful, in my opinion, would involve showing me what my mistakes were so that they are not repeated instead of accusing me of vandalism and slapping me with a completely undeserved second level warning. --142.59.101.81 17:17, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My Rfc[edit]

I noticed that you decided to sign the tired and ineffectual Rfc waged against me. Did you notice the part where the editor states that striking through his comment does not violate policy? Hmn, it looks like someone I know might be wrong. (see below)

Live 8 Philly.[edit]

Why did you revert my edit about Clair Brothers Audio and Franklin Simon Productions. In case you did not know, Clair Bros. Audio is the largest sound reinforcement company in the world. They have American, European, and Asian offices and their clients include Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Bon Jovi, U2, Kayne West, and countless more mega stars. They were not only an important part of Live 8 Philly, but also Live 8 London. For them to recieve no recognition for this historic event would be tragic. Not to mention, Franklin Simon Productions is a special affiliate of Clair Bros Audio and has mixed and managed such events as Woodstock II, several high profile concerts on the eastern seaboard of the US, the annual Bethlehem Musikfest, and Franklin Simon Productions has even supplied audio reinforcement for the former President of the United States, George H W Bush. If you would like to do research on Clair Bros to verify this, simply type in Clair Brothers Audio into google and click ont he first link. If you would like to verify Franklin Simon Productions, simply type in www.theaudioauction.com in your search bar and you will be directed to one of the internets largest audio auction and purchase sites which includes a complete biography of Franklin Simon Productions. Without Clair Bros Audio and Franklin Simon Productions, Live 8 Philly would not have been the best Live 8 concert in terms of Sound Quality. This has been verifed and attested to by Pro Sound News Magazine, a magazine that all industry professionals read. If you would like, you can read the article about Live 8 Philly and several more about the dominance of Clair Brothers in the Audio Industry.

Sincerely, A Live 8 Audio Crew Member.

Amazing Race-Roadblocks[edit]

The sentence was not redundant. The article makes it sound like they must find out the exact info by watching the other teams, I put they are allowed to find out the exact info after choosing a person to do it. That isn't stated, so I am reverting it.-TeckWiz

Live 8 Philly[edit]

It is not a vanity or self bio. I am a member of the local Philly Union of teamsters and have no affiliation with either company. I do, however feel that they both deserve recognition for having helped in so great of an event. I cannot believe that you, with your dedication to "making poverty history" are so reluctant to allow the mention of two great companies that helped to make Live 8 Philly and Live 8 London possible. You should be ashamed of yourself. Not to mention the fact that if I had wanted to make the article vain, I would have. It is hardly a self bio as it does not mention Roy or Troy Clair, the founders of Clair Brothers, or Franklin Simon of FSP, as individuals. I am perplexed as to your reasoning in this. Please reconsider, as I have twice petitioned maturely and passionatley for the re-inclusion of this passage in the article. If you wish, you can write it in. I would just like to see these two companies get credit for the hard work that they did to make these great events possible.

WikiProject Albums[edit]

I recently (yesterday) noticed the WikiProject for writing album articles. I have decided that I will help with writing album articles. I would like to "advertise" this through a userbox. I'm not sure what an appropriate picture would be for it, and I feel it would be better if an administrator were to create the userbox. Either doing so yourself or giving me a link to a good picture for it would be highly appreciated.La Pizza11 19:35, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have done so. The page is here: Template:user Wikiproject Albums. I have one problem, though. I wanted to make a category of all the users, and I made it here: Category:WikiProject_Albums_members. When I was making a link to the category page on the word "user" in my info are of the userbox, it blanked out the word and read "This user is a of WikiProject Albums". I'm not sure what's up.La Pizza11 23:12, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TAR 9[edit]

Rather than beat around the bush, let me state plainly... you've had a lot of problems in the past with regards to TAR and other reality pages. You're repeating a pattern of snap reverts with no Talk page discussion. You're even rollbacking other editors. Cool down. If you want to talk about flags, bring it up on the Talk page. -- Netoholic @ 21:57, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The prior entry asks not to add additional information given the spoilers present. I reverted based upon that. Mhking 02:51, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think that point was telling users not to include details on future episodes, if they don't come from a reliable source. --Madchester 15:36, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So put back the friggin flags but DON'T completely revert multiple changes. God damnn that makes it hard to assume good faith. -- Netoholic @ 17:19, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: info on upcoming episodes, it was already discussed that those details are perfectly acceptable, as long as there are verifiable sources. If you happened to review the sources provided for each leg, you'd realize that they're perfectly legitimate pieces of information. The details are no different than future episode sypnoses on other television series articles. The spoiler tags are sufficient in warning readers. --Madchester 17:26, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The spoiler tags are not "sufficient". By putting the destination (Russia) in the name of the empty section header, you are adding that to the table of contents which appears on the page before anyone can read the spoiler tags. That is inconsiderate of readers that just want to see a re-cap of the aired episode and visit pages we've linked for them in "Leg 1". Please stop. -- Netoholic @ 17:31, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The spoiler tag above the TOC is insufficient because the TOC is instantly visible when you open the page. Just get rid of the empty leg sections. This will all be moot as soon as the episode airs. Be patient. -- Netoholic @ 21:56, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just because it only happened on season 7 doesn't mean it may not happen again. And what if there's a time penalty moving the first place team? Even though the leaderboard may say it, it's still easier to have it said. TeckWiz 21:09, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Madchester: the reason I wrote out the name of the detour even though the summary (that I made) was there is because on leg 1 there is summary yet it's still written out. TeckWiz 13:22, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note that the convention has been to write out the full Detour choices only when one or both of their locations are also wiki-linkable. Notice that the list has an emphasis on the locations visited on each leg; this isn't a leg summary per se. --Madchester 15:01, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3RR[edit]

I wanted to let you know that Netoholic has made a 3RR report against you at WP:AN/3RR (towards the bottom under a section titled "Madchester"). You may wish to respond to his accusation and explain your side of things before an admin blocks you. —Locke Coletc 08:52, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:FEARvideo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FEARvideo.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 22:07, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:FoxTraxInside.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an arguement why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Template:Infobox shopping mall[edit]

Hi, I intented to improve and extend the template:Infobox shopping mall you had created. However, I see that you do not like it. No problem. The articles of the shopping malls in Istanbul require more data, so I create another infobox for use in that articles. I ask you kindly not to revert the related articles in Istanbul. CeeGee 17:55, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I already reverted your edits and changed the link to another infobox. Please leave them so as they are. I will correct my infobox later on, since the problems are not so fatal. CeeGee 18:07, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I asked you not to reedit the articles of shopping malls in Istanbul regarding the infobox which is incomplete. You can do it only when you improve and extend it. By doing so, you are deleting valuable info I added. Please stop it! CeeGee 20:15, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that you also deleted the infobox shopping center I created. Why? It is not superfluous at this moment as you say. The infobox shopping mall is but insufficient. CeeGee 20:21, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Would you please tell me what authorize you to delete the template shopping center which is used by some articles? CeeGee 20:35, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You are very poor, because you can not explain what you are doing. Instead you are using your admin power to cover your incompetence.CeeGee 21:07, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it doesn't really matter of the address stuff I added. Must we always follow the policies closely, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, I always believe in flexibility but not too flexible though. Location is about the same as address so it doesn't make much different. I'm not providing e.g. an address for a cafe in New York City or something like that. I am just stating the exact road of the mall. I added addresses to the text and no one really bothers about it. We may not be a travel guide, but the information is useful for an encyclopaedia. A number of the building articles such as Raffles City include the address. --Terence Ong 14:55, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I had asked you many times not to edit the shopping malls in a way that the content is destroyed. However, it seems taht yu do not understand and continue to this. I had reported your doinges for mediation. And, the mediator had recommended you to accept and use the more comprehensive infobx created by me. In order to avoid edit wars with you, I used an inline infobox, which has no link to your infobox. However, I notice that you reverte my edits again. I will repor you to an admin to stop your vandalism. CeeGee 07:26, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coldplay April Fools Hoax[edit]

Madchester, why do you keep removing and reverting the stuff about the Gaurdian April Fools hoax re. Chris Martin backing the Tories? quercus robur 09:56, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Madchester, you may not agree with my adding of the April fools joke information but that does NOT give you the right to add a vandalism warning to my page, I expect an apology. quercus robur 16:03, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Madchester, after 2 days I am still awaiting an apology for your placing of a 'vandalism' warning on my talk page. I'm afraid that if you think I am going to let this lie you have miscalculated. quercus robur 16:44, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Madchester, its interesting that you expect 'civility' to be a one way process. In what way were you behaving with 'civility' when you placed a totally inappropriate 'vandalism' notice on my talk page? In what way were you behaving with 'civility' when you reverted my changes to the Coldplay page in such a high handed manner rather than discussing the issue properly and seeking a workable consesnsus?
Furthermore, how am I 'forcing' an apology from you or 'threatening' you? What could I possibly do that would 'force' you to retract your 'vandalism' allegations? I do however expect an acknowledgement that your 'vandalism' notice was completely inappropriate and insulting to my integrity as a long standing Wikipedia contributor, and unbecomming behaviour for somebody who is so proud of having 'earned' their adminship.
However it seems that you can't find the good grace to admit that you have made a mistake, and we shall have to leave it there. At the end of the day the matter is, as you say, trivial in the bigger scheme of things, and whilst I understand that you are not prepared to lose face over this, I hope that you will stop and think before treating other wikipedia contributors in a such a high-handed and arrogant manner in future.
Best wishes quercus robur 18:32, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
