Box office references for The Hangover[edit]

Hey Seymour, two quick things:

  1. In The Hangover article, can you please stop overwriting the formatted citation templates with "naked" link references? The templates format the information to produce references that are more useful to someone reading an article or checking a reference. Also, in my opinion, it's a good thing to keep both a reference that uses the "Numbers" reference as well as a Box Office Mojo reference, so that both are available within the article for quick reference/double confirmation.
  2. It looks like in another one of your edits to the article, you took the referenced $35 million production budget and the $40 million marketing budget and incorrectly averaged the two together as $37.5 million as if they were two estimates of the same figure. These two budgets are separate and distinct from each other, and should not be combined in this way. If anything, it might be appropriate to remove the marketing budget figure and mention it in the article body, but they definitely should not be averaged together.

Billboard 200[edit]

Please stop adding an incorrect Mariah Carey total here. Unless you can provide an alternate source (than the Whitburn book used for the stats) please stop re-adding it. Aside from her debut, most of Carey's #1 albums only spent 1 or 2 weeks on top. Thanks. - eo (talk) 15:13, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The source you added does not back up your claim. The article was about the Hot 100 (singles chart), not the Billboard 200 (albums). It also stated nothing about Mariah Carey amassing 91 weeks at #1. - eo (talk) 15:26, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Seymour again. Checked back here and noticed it looks like you're in a content battle over at Billboard 200 over Mariah Carey. I figured out what the discrepancy is there... the Billboard 200 is a ranking of albums, whereas the link you provide showing Carey with 79 weeks at #1 is for the Billboard Hot 100, a ranking of singles. So you're actually trying to add that information in the wrong location. –Fierce Beaver (talk) 15:30, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ohh,now i get it,thats talking about albums atop number 1, i thought singles. Ill add a section for singles...:)--Maester Seymour (talk) 15:33, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Billboard Hot 100[edit]

I've removed this [1]. Trivia bits were moved to their own article and there is no need for it in the main Hot 100 page. Please also be more careful with your edits. There is no need to overlink names (wikilink more than one time per article). Also, you need to doublecheck your wikilinks and follow them through to make sure you don't point to a redirect page. For example Boys II Men is wrong, Usher is wrong and Beyonce is wrong (per your edit, click those to see what I mean). "jackson" should also be capitalized. You may also want to check proper formatting of references if you use the same reference link more than one time per article (the full URL is not needed every time). Take some time out please before doing further editing to read some Wikipedia Help pages (or ask another editor before you save) so that others do not have to clean up after you. Thanks. - eo (talk) 18:09, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops, meant to leave you the link. I removed it because all of that statistical stuff is at Billboard Hot 100 chart achievements and milestones already (there used to be a ton of it in the main Hot 100 article but it grew too big so it was spun off). - eo (talk) 23:34, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop overlinking[edit]

As said before, there is no need to wikilink the same things over and over again within the same article. I've reverted this a bunch of times now, please stop doing it. Thank you. - eo (talk) 23:50, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
