look sardar word was widely used in when someone headed the tribe in the old days i means in a decade ago so who ever creating a controversy should make it clear that sardar in fact used for landlords but the way of personality achieved by Sikh the non-sikh person just gave him respect which became widespread not in contrary. - That's where sikh people go wrong, they are injected with ego by non-sikh people (most of the time people say so to sikh to disrespect him or make fun of him). And sikhs think that they are been given respect, i pity on them who feel so. Our gurus didn't teach us to gain respect from humans. They insisted to give respect to Waheguru only, and get respect only from Gurudwara, by means, of Kirtan, sewa and Sadgun or good deeds. And factually again, no one has proof to what you have written Nav Singh. That's what my point really is, sardar word shouldn't be linked with anyone (especially Sikhs), for just, what people say, believe, think or see. That word is not even used in our granths, banis, sikh rehat maryada, or even in names of our gurus. Who can be bigger than them, if anyone puts sardar in front of his name then it shows that he consider himself superior than gurus, as gurus didn't said themselves kings,lords, landlords, even after they actually were king of kings like Guru Hargobind ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji, then how their followers be so hungry for a respect which even they don't deserve. We are instructed to be dust of feet of gurmukhs and we are doing opposite to our gurus teaching due to fog of ego. Harinder Singh 16:54, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
