Request reason:

The page Estonian Science Fiction was linked into fan-chat today. So multiple people who have some experience in creating and editing wikipages jumped in for making the page better. The first one was a friend of mine, who took his time to collect sources as official page of local association and literary magazine articles. He made a good job refering and linking. But it wasn't sen like that. So I jumped in in hope that even if you can't understand the language, the links were in, they are still valid sources. But I just bruised my head against the wall and all of the sudden I and my friend (who lives 100 miles away, has a different gender and has written his own books and not mine) were considered as one person. We are not. Even if we have same views on this topic - Estonian Science Fiction is in our books, in our minds and hearts all around the clock. I don't think it's so bad to want a better page for something we are proud of. I hope it's a reason enough for you. Check the IP-addresses and you can see that I am not heinrichweinberg and I am most certainly NOT Metsavana (who is a male as well and quite a few years younger). Otherwise wikipedia just lost a contributer who has some passion. Maybe it's even good, I could just shrug my sholders, when I see a really broken wiki-page, and walk the other direction.

Decline reason:

Firstly, there were copyright issues with that text, and an official website is often not a good source for Wikipedia's purposes; see WP:Identifying reliable sources. Secondly and more relevantly to this block, Wikipedia ultimately doesn't care if there's one person typing or multiple people; if they edit with the same agenda (as clearly happened here) Wikipedia treats them as one; see WP:MEAT. Is it okay to have my account back if I promise not to make any changes on that particular page, not to voice any complaint either? I can see how it may look from distance. I can't say that I lose my passion, but I can promise not to touch any similar English wiki pages. My only agenda is having a better wikipedia and nothing more. If that requires me to keep my eyes shut on certain problems, I'm able to do so. I can even go as far as say I would only make changes in wiki Estonia, where I've done all my editing so far. Now I've seen the version he wrote (on more readable and comparable version) and I can see copyright issues, because he took some real lengthy quotations and didn't create a new material out of the same data. I can't see source validation problem, but I can accept the fact that cultural minority (there's less than million Estonians, only 120 member in Sci-Fi and Fantasy Association and according to the research done in University of Tartu in years 1992-2014 there was only as little as 1300 published Sci-Fi or Fantasy books in total) don't have the funds to create webpages that wouldn't look like personal ones or create and run a magazine with all the lights and wistles, but it's still the magazine - each article and story heavily edited and double checked.

Decline reason:

The block is only on the English Wikipedia; it does not affect your ability to edit the Estonian Wikipedia. If you aren't going to edit the English Wikipedia, there is no need to lift the block. 331dot (talk) 09:32, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

It would have been nice to have my account back before the bedtime, but... I think I've lost it... What did I do? I just asked few questions from admin who deleted contest someone else had added. I tried to presvuade that magazine with ISSN is valid source and that national Sci-Fi and Fantasy Association's page is valid as well (even if they look like a personal blog, they are not and everyone who know the language is able to check it). All of the sudden I was blocked. It would be nice to know that I would be able to better something, when I'll see a mistake or something missing. But... I think I'm just too tired of this... Even if I'll have my account back, which is plausible...
