Location Map[edit]

Hello everyone,

I was trying to update the map with the teams for the Spanish Women's basketball League for the present season, but I cannot seem to be able to use the map in the Spanish Version of the Article (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liga_Femenina_de_Baloncesto_de_Espa%C3%B1a#Temporada_2014.E2.80.932015). The map in each one is different, since the one in the spanish page includes inside the Canary Islands (Image: Spain_location_map_with_Canary_Islands.png), but I get message errors when I try to replace it "copying" the formula. Much appreciated. Best regards. Maku17 (talk) 08:52, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Maku17, you can't copy directly from a Spanish article onto the English wiki because the codes are only valid in the language present (so "Etiqueta imagen inicio" will not work). I would suggest (if you want the Canary Islands version of the map) checking out 1929 Segunda División or 1929 Segunda División Grupo B, which both contain that map (and you can then simply copy the lat/long info from the original Spanish article. If you have any other questions, feel free to modify the help tag or ping me with {{u|Primefac}}. Cheers, Primefac (talk) 15:45, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your answer Primefac. I wasn't trying to copy the code directly. However, but I was however just trying to modify the old file in the english version with the name of the file with the canary islands (as it appears correctly in the spanish article), But now I realize that the map in the 1929 Segunda División is using a different format on the way to place the coordinates. For instance... the english version of the basketball article i was trying to modify reads this way:
* {{Location map~|Spain|lat=40.357533|long=-3.546245|position=bottom|marksize=5|label=Rivas Ecópolis|}}
However, the one you provide goes something like this:
* {{Image label small|x=0.23|y=0.11|scale=400|text= [[Real Oviedo]]}}
I haven't been able yet a tutorial on how to edit these maps... Would you be so kind to provide me with any link, so that I learn my lesson before asking again? :-) Thanks again --Maku17 (talk) 17:03, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, I'm not overly sure myself why there's a difference, but I'm looking in to it. I'll leave the help tag in case someone else can help you better than I can. Primefac (talk) 20:53, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there's a dedicated tutorial, but you can check out the template documentation at Template:Location map+ and Template:Image label small, respectively. The main difference is that the former is meant to provide locations on specific maps via geographical coordinates, while the latter can be used to add labels to any image, with position relative to the borders of the image. The reason the map with the Canaries requires the latter method of course is that the inset with the Canaries isn't where, by coordinates, it should be - trying to add the dot for Gran Canaria via geograpical coordinates would place it off the map. Huon (talk) 21:21, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well that sounds like a perfectly logical explanation Huon! Thanks you for much! Will try it soon! Maku17 (talk) 23:38, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 24[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Basketball at the 2001 Mediterranean Games, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Ricardo Gonzalez and Javier Rodriguez. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

STOP EDITING SPAINS ROSTER - YOUR TEAMS,POSITIONS,SIZES ARE ALL INCORRECT. MANY OTHERS FIX IT, AND YOU KEEP RUINING IT. KEEP CONSISTENT WITH THE OTHER 23 SQUADS. LAST TEAM PRIOR TO TOURNAMENT IS LAST TEAM SIGNED WITH/BELONGING TOO PRIOR TO TOURNAMENT. 23 of 24 FOLLOW THAT. YOU KEEP RUINING SPAIN. PLEASE STOP. FOREVER. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.113.252.50 (talk) 23:19, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore- positions: A combo guard, such as Sergio LLull, is listed as "G", rather than "PG" or "SG", since a combo guard plays both. San Emetario does not play power forward. Mirotic is a PF not a center. There are many more. You aren't accurate.

As for teams: you are incorrect. 23 of the 24 teams listed, the "Club" is the most recent team they've signed with, the team they belonged to at beginning of tournament, not simply the last team they actually played games for the previous season, which is long over. Go look at every single other team, and they follow one format. You alone solely change the criteria for Spain, making them 1 of 24 with clubs listed the way you incorrectly see as being proper. You are wrong on this, please leave it and stop editing. I've seen numerous attempts by numerous users to fix it, and yet you keep reverting it to your wrong roster info. Just stop editing it and leave it already. It is correct as of now. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.113.252.50 (talk) 23:27, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Víctor Lapeña[edit]

Hello Maku17,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Víctor Lapeña for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kavdiamanju (talk) 15:05, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asturkian (talk) 10:45, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
