DYK for National Education Policy 2020[edit]

On 28 August 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article National Education Policy 2020, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that under India's new education policy, students will be allowed to combine fashion studies with physics, or baking courses with chemistry? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/National Education Policy 2020. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, National Education Policy 2020), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Half Barnstar
Good work on creating the 2020 Sweden riots article, hope you improve it further, maybe to WP:ITN. Also appreciate your New Education Policy DYK. And publicly declaring your support for Hindutva, which has been discribed as "almost fascist in the classical sense", is certainly very bold. So, a Half Barnstar for your opposite and certainly "repulsive" (to me) viewpoint. TryKid[dubiousdiscuss] 10:38, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mivi moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Mivi, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Delhi Metropolitan Council requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.insightsonindia.com/2014/11/05/insights-current-events-5-november-2014/ and http://www.millenniumpost.in/opinion/leadership-at-loggerheads-269918. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion declined: Bharatiya jinnah party[edit]

Hello Manasbose. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Bharatiya jinnah party, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not nonsense - there is meaningful content. Thank you. Jackmcbarn (talk) 18:31, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

October 2020[edit]

Please do not use unobvious reference names like <ref name=":0">. It is much better to use a combination of the source and the date. -- Toddy1 (talk) 11:10, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In visual edits, re-using citations automatically adds <ref name=":0">. Is there any way I can edit ref names in Visual edit? -- Manasbose (talk | contribs) 11:13, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have never used Visual Editor. Maybe it is explained in Wikipedia:VisualEditor/User guide.
If you want to switch off Visual Editor, then go to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing and tick "Temporarily disable the visual editor while it is in beta".-- Toddy1 (talk) 11:33, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Manasbose, if the vandalism continues, please request page protection at WP:RfPP. If you have Twinkle installed, you can do so from the Twinkle menu. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:23, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Kautilya3: I've already requested a temporary pp for 6 months (since elections will most likely be completed within 6 months). You can check it out here. It'll kind of you if you could tell me if the request I made was OK or not (as I'm new to using twinkle & RfPP). Thank you for reaching out. -- Manasbose (talk | contribs) 12:37, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Picture in Namsudra article[edit]

Please do not add any not verifiable documents. The picture is in 1860. Then the name "Namasudra" was not there. So this picture definitely was wrong. Why do you want this to be hanged there? If any picture deserved its place is definitely there God Harichand. Why you want it otherwise? I find incidentally you are a Bengali. What is the actual problem in your society? Earlier on also some Bose or Banerjee insisted on this picture. Is that a personal or communal grudge? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.8.117.108 (talk) 04:45, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kamala Harris[edit]

The Wikipedia article refers to her as first African-American Vice-president, her father is of Jamaican decent, so Jamaican-American should be used instead of African. Can you please edit? GinGindindin (talk) 13:36, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look[edit]

What do you think of this edit? Since you edited the article in the recent past, I thought it is better to ask you. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:02, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fylindfotberserk, I don't understand what you want to know. That incident took place a long time ago and was covered by the local media for about a week. Although not very much notable incident, but could be mentioned in just one line. -- Manasbose (talk | edits) 11:14, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If it is not notable enough, I'm not reverting it, but that user is probably socking (removed another block here) and has an agenda, if you see their edits, they seem to be downplaying things like death of Hindus in Bangladesh, etc. I've opened an SPI though. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:28, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a one line summary of the incident (instead of an entire paragraph previously). -- Manasbose (talk | edits) 11:54, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
