New Page Rating[edit]

{{helpme}} I have created a new page and would like it to get a rating from the Trains Wikiproject.

The page is called The Engine House.

Thanks. --Manor 7812 (talk) 14:50, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your best approach would be to post a request on their talk page at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains. JohnCD (talk) 14:56, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Severn Valley Railway[edit]

Hi there, Manor 7812. I am afraid I have removed the 'Events' section you added to SVR. I don't want to discourage a new editor, but I thought your contribution too close to advertising, which you can't do here. The give-away was "As part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations". The SVR has no right of ownership of the article, so you can't say 'our'. It is about the SVR, not by it. I recommend you read What Wikipedia is not for a fuller explanation. Talk:Coal Yard Miniature Railway[edit]

Please take a look at the questions about stations and the terminus at Talk:Coal Yard Miniature Railway. Also, would it be possible for you to take and upload a picture or two of the line? -Arb. (talk) 17:43, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I should have some pictures on by next monday. - Manor 7812 (talk) 12:36, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Coal Yard Miniature Railway[edit]

Hello again.

In recent edits at Coal Yard Miniature Railway you added as references "Coal yard miniature railway" and "Coal Yard Miniature Railway, Kidderminster". Unfortunately these do not meet the requirements of WP:REF (which you should read if you haven't already). Instead, is there perhaps a guide book for visitors to the railway or something similar that contains the information and to which you could provide "proper" citations?

Also, any luck with those photos?

The recent edit you made to Coal Yard Miniature Railway constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to remove content from articles without explanation. Thank you. Samwb123T (R)-C-E 19:31, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, Manor 7812 was trying to move the page to its correct name but misunderstood the process and accidentally blanked it, twice. It is sorted now. We should keep the old name (Coal Yard Miniature Railway) as a plausible redirect. -Arb. (talk) 22:51, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Pianoplonkers is constantly undermining my edits and watching my activities on wiki. does he not realise that I am new to wikipedia.Manor 7812 14:44, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem is that you're not following the proper procedure for page moving. If you want help there, ask me or the other user. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 14:45, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

but this is not the only occasion, he constantly spys on my wiki activities.Manor 7812 14:49, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did he do something specific wrong? It makes sense to me to watch someone who is new here and who made some mistakes. But most importantly, if you have any problem with an editor, try to talk with him first about it. Svick (talk) 15:10, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I did leave him a message but he deleted it.Manor 7812 15:12, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Per this, it appears that Pianoplonkers is on a wikibreak, and has not edited since 21 Feb. I can't find any interaction after your messages to Pianoplonkers on 17 Feb (here), So my advice would be to leave it be and go edit. If there are problems after the fact, specific edits that are problematic, then I would clearly ask Pianoplonkers to explain his/her actions - discussion is always best. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cut off point requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.
