Possible copyright violations[edit]

I've noticed a couple of sentences you've added to Tagged have been copy-pasted without attribution from other websites. You must not add material to Wikipedia that has been directly copied from other websites without permission from the copyright holder. You should review Wikipedia's policy on copyright violations; the essay Wikipedia:Copy-paste may also be helpful. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 12:29, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Understood, I'll make it a lot more clearer in the future. MarinaKSF (talk) 21:11, 23 November 2009 (UTC)MarinaK[reply]

But you did it again, even re-adding the exact same text that I removed ([1]). You seem to have copy-pasted a full sentence from http://vcgate.com/Tagged-com-is-a-Rapidly-Growing-Social-Network-with-Great-Promise.asp I'm not sure how I can make it any clearer. Even when you're only adding a single sentence, if you don't change the wording, you must, as an absolute minimum, cite the source. Preferable by far is to put the information into your own words; doing so is compulsory for anything longer than a sentence. It doesn't even matter if the citation is not properly formatted – as long as you provide a URL, another editor can complete the citation.

I don't mean to bite a newcomer, but copyright violations are a serious matter. Please review the policy and essay linked above. You should be aware that, according to Wikipedia's policy on copyright violations, if a user develops a history of copyright violation, all of that user's contributions may be removed indiscriminately. I definitely have to be a lot more careful about this and I aim to be. I don't want to be banned or have my contributions removed. MarinaKSF (talk) 21:43, 28 November 2009 (UTC)MarinaK[reply]

Erik[edit]

Hi Marina,

Do you have a source for the Erik Voegler claim ([2])? I can expand a url, but there's not much I can do with <ref>$200,000</ref>. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 11:01, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Adrien, the reference is here- http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Taggedcom-Awarded-200000-Judgment-Against-Spammer-1109293.htm. Thanks! --MarinaKSF (talk) 04:52, 9 February 2010 (UTC)MarinaK.[reply]

Re: Thanks[edit]

No worries, and thanks for providing the url. The article has certainly come along way since I found it. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 06:20, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
