A tag has been placed on File:Oasis academy John Williams logo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Links and references[edit]

Note that the correct link for academies is Academy (English school). Take a look at {{cite web}} and {{cite news}} which are much better than adding bare URL references to article. Also, be careful when you add references to an unreferenced article to also add the "References" section. --Simple Bob a.k.a. The Spaminator (Talk) 12:53, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

UK schools[edit]

A great idea but I tried a couple of months ago and got no support for it. You have my support if you want to try again, but I'm not overly optimistic. Let me know anyway because I have the next Schools project newsletter ready to send out. In fact the entire schools project with over 300 members is pretty much dead because most 'members' come as WP:SPA to write just one article about their own school. There are only about three editors who are prepared to clean up the crap thy leave behind - and I'm one of them. It's a big task because there are about 20,000 UK school articles to clean up. Many of the UK ones are OK now because I've been working solidly on them for a year. Last autumn I rewrote all the project pages, and User:Kanguole has rebuilt the programming for the infobox. BTW: Could you please fix your signature so that it links to your user page and talk page. You'll find that this will be automatic if you type four tildes ~~~~ to sign your name. --Kudpung (talk) 01:05, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP Somerset in the Signpost[edit]

Copied from my talk page & the project talk page to ensure wide coverage.

"WikiProject Report" would like to focus on WikiProject Somerset for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Other editors will also have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions. If you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day.— Rod talk 07:38, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bristol Free School[edit]

Speedy deletion nomination of [[:File:Bristol Free School.JPG]

Greater Anglia[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Greater Anglia a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.

Please don't rename an article while there is an open AfD discussion. Thanks. --Bob Re-born (talk) 20:33, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to create an article about proposed transport schemes then please do it separately with a new article. Don't change the purpose/focus of the existing article. --Bob Re-born (talk) 20:42, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
