Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tnetlogo07.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tnetlogo07.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:29, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam in TradeNet[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on TradeNet, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because TradeNet is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting TradeNet, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:PhonePrices.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey (talk) 10:00, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Falsely licensed images[edit]

Inserting other people's work into Wikipedia without permission or attribution is unacceptable. Copyright infringement and plagiarism pose serious moral, legal, and reputation problems. Remember: Users who upload content (File:TNET_woman_trader.jpg) with false license declarations ... may be blocked. feydey (talk) 10:03, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I own these images and hold full copyright to them. I don't understand why my article was deleted and then i was blocked. I presume since i am new perhaps i did choose the correct classification. But i reuploaded the images and reclassified them only to find my article deleted. The images should be deleted and I can reclassify or prove copyright ownership.

Decline reason:

This seems like a valid block. The burden of proof is upon you to demonstrate that you own these images. And even that means very little unless you are willing to irrevocably grant anyone the right to use the images for anything. Chillum 21:57, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am trying to post up my first articles on Wikipedia and understanding the copyright models for images, even if you own full rights to them, isn't easy. Can you unblock me and restore my article and simply delete the images instead? Then i will review more carefully all the usage issues around posting and meet your criteria for any future uploads. It seems strange to me that I was blocked and the article removed when the problem is with the images. Looking at my file and postings, you can see that the first two image uploads were flagged as potential copyright violations and i took them down immediately and tried to upload them with the correct rights. Now i'm confused... how can i prove ownership in the images? other than by stating that i own them fully as you require? Two images that were removed I had created or photographed myself. I stated that in the copyright information and assigned rights for others to use those as long as they credited the organization that i work with that should have attribution rights. And on the third image that i commissioned and paid my friend to photograph on my behalf, I own that photograph too. I put his name as the 'author' since he actually photographed it, but I own it. And 'I' in this case is both myself as an individiual, but also the company that i own and control that has the rights to use those images. I have tried to observe the rules around copyright and attribution strenously. I can even email someone the original images and photoshoot if they require 'proof' and I can give the original photoshop/illustrator files for the logos. Please advise. My block should be removed automatically, but i don't want to go throught the trouble of creating an article with the same images and have the whole thing removed again. IN any case, can i have that 'esoko' article restored to save all the work I did yesterday? I believe the topic is notable in that the company is pioneering mobile based market services across africa, and I was asked to post something by the author of the article 'agricultural marketing services' which was posted by the UN. And i also include a list of other such services that are notable across the continent. Please advise.

The first problem were the copyrighted images that You uploaded, like the copyrighted Esoko logo that claimed as Your own work. Secondly the Esoko article was deleted as it was: An article about an organization that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. Also no pages link to Esoko and it contained blatant advertising. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia not a directory of companies. Comments? feydey (talk) 13:19, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Restored, let's see Your improvements. Luck, feydey (talk) 13:53, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Logo uploaded again (File:Esoko09.png)[edit]

Please understand that even if You created that logo by Yourself it doesn't mean You can upload it to Wikipedia with a free license. If You give it away with the GNU Free Documentation License that means anyone or any company can take that logo and use as they please. Example: You designed the Nike Swoosh logo (File:Nike(c).svg) - You still cannot give it away later, because the COMPANY owns it. So in conclusion the Esoko logo is owned by the company/organization and You need their executive decision to have it available without restrictions. You should consider switching to {{Non-free logo}} and adding a rationale for use in Esoko, otherwise it will be deleted as a copyright violation. feydey (talk) 15:54, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
