Thank you! I love a good scotch. Though I currently can't see it ever meeting WP:BAND, the remark on the talkpage, plus the fact they exist for over 20 years makes me think that something might come of it. Speaking of whiksy, are you interested in helping out with the whisky related articles on Wikipedia. They're in a truely deplorable state, and I'm quite lazy if I have to do everything myself. Meh. That reminds me of that bottle in my cupboard but I'm currently not allowed to drink the stuff due to medication. But I shall have a look at some cyber Scotch instead and fix some articles. And I agree with you about that band. Maybe I can dig something out of the interwebs since I'm currently doing some dark/goth/symphonic band editing anyway. On another note, regarding your name, might you be interested in helping WikiProject Frisia? There are still a lot of articles that could be beefed up with translated text from the Dutch Wikipedia. Hi Daemonic Kangaroo, the claim of importance is having songs featured in the video game Just Dance 3. This claim seems credible to me. A7 is meant for things like 'the guy who lives down the street with the funny haircut'. The threshold for A7 is far lower than the notability guideline. Hello, you speedily deleted TripIt, per:

This company (TripIt, Inc.) is a significant and growing company that was acquired by Concur Technologies in January 2011. Since TripIt is a red-link, I was considering to create it (if and when I can find the time to do research etc.) or, at least, create a redirect to Concur Technologies. However, I am curious to know what was in the page before it was speedily chopped... Are you able to locate the history prior to deletion? If so, could you check it? If this is something I can do, please let me know how...
(I assume one has to be at least an administrator to do that, right? Who can do it, and how can they do it?)

Thanks, it must be same venture. It was founded in October 2006, so in May 2008 it was still an early stage venture. Now it is past puberty and apparently well established. Maybe I will look at this again later...

Mystery of Sir John Gladstone

I think I solved your mystery. If you look at the disambiguation page for "John Gladstone" ... you will find (at least) six, including two Baronets (1st and 3rd) with the honourific title of Sir. You linked to the 1st Baronet (father of UK PM Gladstone), but the man linked to Fettercairn Distillery was the elder brother of UK PM Gladstone, presumably one of the elder sons of the 1st Baronet.

Now there is a new mystery, who was the 2nd Baronet? Perhaps the eldest son of the 1st Baronet and, presumably, older brother of the 3rd Baronet? Hope this helps.

Nice! It all happened in 1890, so we can be reasonably sure we need a man born before 1870, and died after 1890. The third and fourth Baronet might fit the bill, and so may the second. Sources generally point to the first, but ruling out zombie owenership, I think we can forget about that one. I think (I'm not sure, sources don't explicitly say this, but they don't claim anyone in between either) the Co. was owned by the same man until 1926. That would leave the 3rd and 4th (and possibly the 2nd, but we don't know that) alive. The closing of the distillery coincides with the death of the 3rd, which could be an explanation for closing it. Problem is; choosing any would be OR, even if there were only one fully suitable candidate. I had looked in to some of the alternatives before; it's just a tad frustrating the sources are lying! I am sure William Ewart Gladstone (Liberal) was not the type to wet-nurse anyone and I am sure he would never have made the cover of GQ, even if not a zombie (former) PM (a Liberal devil, perhaps?). I really did not study him, although I recall my sister did. All I recall, is that it is impossible to speak of Gladstone (the PM one) without also uttering the name Benjamin Disraeli (Conservative, aka Tory). Gladstone and Disraeli traded (a few times), not only the post of Prime Minister, but also the post of Chancellor of the Exchequer. Quite a remarkable battling duo ... that was for sure.
One thing that struck me, is how Gladstone's dad, the colonial slave-trader, sued for damages following the banning (criminalization) of the slave trade. And, at the same time, abusing the concept of indentured servitude to recreate a new form of slavery. All the more remarkable when you consider that he was the father of a famous Liberal PM.

Hi Dilpreet, as you can see on http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Baba_Kharak_Singh it was deleted because it was a copyright violation of http://www.roopinder.com/blog/profile-articles-2/baba-kharak-singh from which whole sections were copied or closely paraphrased (see WP:PARAPHRASE). As a copyright violation, we can't host it on Wikipedia. I haven't properly investigated if it meets our notability guideline (WP:BIO), as I pretty much stopped looking when I confirmed it a copyright violation. That means I can't tell you if there are other problems too, yet this alone means it can't stay on Wikipedia. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 19:39, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

No I can't. I don't see how that is relevant either. There were phrases copied, I haven't seen any evidence that they are free of copyright, so therefor we assume they are. If you can't prove they are either in the public domain, or released under a compatible licence, we have to assume it is encumbered by copyright. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 20:22, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Probably. I was still looking if it should go up for AfD while you nominated it. Remember that G3-hoax is for people trying to create a hoax. It is a sub-item of G3, blatant vandlism (and creating hoaxes can be seen as blatent vandlism). This article is nothing like that. The articles subject might be a hoax, but the article goes in to that itself. So the reason for deletion at AfD would than be that it's either a non-notable author, or a non-notable hoax. Thomas Eisfeld

I see that you deleted the recently created Thomas Eisfeld per a previous discussion. It appears that the original article was deleted mainly due to the fact that he failed WP:FOOTBALL. Since the discussion, it looks like he has made his professional debut and has received some modicum of coverage for it. I am no football expert, but it looks like he might now pass WP:FOOTBALL and might be worthy of inclusion at this point. Topher385 (talk) 11:44, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
