Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Marylanderz! I'm White Shadows, and I've been editing Wikipedia for a while. I'm here to say hi. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that I'm supposed to recommend to you:

It's a bit like giving you an instruction manual (and who reads the manual), so just ask me if you get stuck with anything. (of if you want those pages in a nutshell) I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, see Wikipedia:Questions, or ask me on my talk page.

And in case your wondering, I am a real person, and this isn't an automated process.--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 00:58, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clara Campoamor[edit]

I've reviewed your article on Clara Campoamor at T:DYK, and all appears good. Not many new editors create such good content so soon after starting to edit Wikipedia; great job! I have one question — don't worry, because the answer to this question doesn't matter for Did You Know; I'm just curious — how did you get access to the book about American Unitarians? It's not available for me to view right now; do you have a printed copy of the book, or was it working online when you used it? Nyttend (talk) 01:45, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was online when I used it. Not sure if they changed the access on google books or what. Marylanderz (talk) 02:40, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, that was a mistake — I meant Florence Luscomb. I've not looked at Campoamor's article. Nyttend (talk) 02:41, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I just went to look because it struck me as odd that I would have used a book on American Unitarians in an article about a Spaniard :). Same answer applies, though. I've actually seen the book in print, but when I wrote the article I had access to it on google books. Marylanderz (talk) 02:44, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK list[edit]

Thank you so much for your contributions to the "Did you know?" section of the main page. I appreciate your work to feature your own creations and the creations of others, however, the list page WP:DYKLIST will show your name after you reach 25 DYK creations and expansions or after 25 DYK nominations of other peoples' articles, not after 25 of the two types combined. Looking forward to seeing you on that page in the future! Binksternet (talk) 22:34, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You said all of your noms were creations/expansions but I saw some that were not. For example, you didn't create or 5x expand 2010 Winter Olympics national flag bearers, Biathlon at the 2010 Winter Olympics – Men's pursuit, or Amy Williams. The article about Björn Ferry should not have been passed for DYK because it was not 5x expanded. Binksternet (talk) 02:43, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll credit you for Björn Ferry since the DYK nom was taken to the main page by Materialscientist without ever being approved. It's like a bad call made by an official in sports—play continues as if the call were correct. Binksternet (talk) 19:36, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
