IP editor User:199.212.252.143's talk page[edit]

Hey Matt. I just wanted to let you know that per WP:REMOVED, the IP can remove all those notices if they choose to do so. I personally don't think it's right, but it is what it is. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:38, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

I have granted the "rollbacker" permission to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, contact me and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. – Gilliam (talk) 10:09, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

President of India[edit]

You are reverting a space after the use dmy. What does that do? I can see no change and I'm curious. President of India TVGarfield (talk) 01:30, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I personally thought that those edits made by an IP user, even though they added a space after the use dmy and they didn't add anything other than what I mentioned earlier, were pointless. That is why I reverted both of them. Matt7899 (talk) 08:10, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't think it made a difference, I thought it might be some markup thing. TVGarfield (talk) 16:54, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Xi Jinping[edit]

Hi. Why did you revert [1]? zzz (talk) 11:10, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

zzz, I accidentally mistook your previous edit (before I reverted it) for a vandal edit. Apologies for reverting your edit without being aware that your edit was not vandalism. Matt7899 (talk) 12:59, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Thanks very much for explaining. Cheers zzz (talk) 13:10, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message[edit]

Hello, Matt7899. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Leekes[edit]

Hi Matt, as an employee of Leekes I updated this article ever so slightly to reflect the fact that not every store has the listed departments - in effect the original, now reverted article is not factual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul.s.goode (talkcontribs) 15:02, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Using rollback[edit]

Hi Matt7899, thanks for your work in reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. I noticed that you are using the Rollback feature for reverting some edits, e.g., this reversion to Let It Shine (2007 TV series), and this reversion to Io (moon), which do not meet the criteria for what warrants using this feature. Please be more careful in checking what the editors have changed before reverting such edits, because the first rolled back a series of productive edits by an IP editor (which should not have been reverted), and the second reverted a good-faith edit (which should have been reverted). In the second case, it would have been more appropriate to use Twinkle, which lets you provide a summary for why you reverted the revision. See Wikipedia:Rollback#When to use rollback to see a list of situations where it is appropriate to use Rollback. --Joshua Issac (talk) 09:51, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
