Image copyright problem with Image:Arialvu1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arialvu1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. I asked you a question above. Not only have you failed to answer the question, you have ignored my advice and uploaded two images (one of which was not even a JPEG!) with the stupid {{badJPEG}} tag. help[edit]

Can i be perfectly honest, i've only been registered for nearely 3 days and i dont understand how any of the concepts work on wikipedia. I've read the help systems over & over and to be honest its useless. All it does is ramble on about what to do but theres no explanation on how to do it. *3* Not all people are computer buffs, we dont all know the techniques and the help guide is about as complicated as u ca possibly get, plus theres no step by step guides. And as for the images, whats all this about JPG?! *2*

I have most of my images saved on a digital camera and theres no clear way of saying what specific copywrite tages you need for it, which i think is just ludicrus by the way...So what if other ppl nick my images i dont care, *4* unless their important....

The only editing i do is those for mountains & hills in Britain, which isnt exactly life crucial infomation...

Also the only way i could contact you is via going on ur website. If you want to make life easier for new comers, alil bit of personal advice..Make the help system more clearer and effective(you gotta be a computer expert to understand it), make sure theres an easier way of contacting you, and stop having ago at ppl who do find it complicated.

If you have or havnt noticed i've already made 5 quality articals using my own method and they look fine like any others with correct infomation and images.

So please get back to me soon to tell me simply, how i get the right tags, where i get them from, and how to edit articals in a more simpler way to ur help guide, because thats the reason why i made afew mistakes.

Also i couldnt reply to your everlasting *question* because account hasn't been authenticated yet *1* and like i said theres no easy way of contacting you unless it is, so u suggest that also gets sorted.

Are you suggesting (*1*) that you are prevented from editing this page or my talk page because your account is too recently created? If that is true, I suggest you report it at the Help desk.

Re *2*: please read JPEG. Surely you noticed that most of the images you uploaded had ".JPG" at the end of their names.

I will agree (*3*) that the help files can be a bit of a jungle. New users are often the best people to write the help files - once you have mastered a given Wikipedia concept, why don't you go back and improve the help file about it!

You may not care (*4*) if people nick your images, but we care very much if you have nicked other people's images! I have already found that Image:2006 4082 map.gif and Image:Milkhill.jpg have been copied from websites. Which of course makes me suspicious about all your other image uploads - for example, if you took Image:Greenhill.jpg, why have you only uploaded a thumbnail version? I am just about prepared to believe that you took Image:P28139.jpg because it still has its EXIF metadata in place, ie. it is in a state as copied direct from a camera.

For those images that you have nicked, do nothing - they will soon be removed. If you can honestly state that you created an image, then tagging it is dead easy: just put {{GFDL-self}} as the image description.

Please keep contributing. Pay attention to capitalisation and wikilinks, eg. "[[Yorkshire Dales National Park]]" not "yorkshire dales national park"! -- RHaworth 15:38, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Twakerbot got your edit wrong it seems.

I changed it to "#REDIRECT [[Grimsdyke (Harrow)]]", which is a standard re-direct. No need to worry.

You may want to have a read of Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. It is a good introduction to Wikipedia and should stop any more warnings being given to you.

Once again, where on earth did you get your info from? Re Grimsdyke, Stanmore: the area itself is not to be confused with another grimsdyke in north London and another in the yorkshire moors.
