Adoption[edit]

HI I'm Marx01 Tell me about it and I would like to offer you to be put into my adoption program. Leave a reply as to your decision below this message or on my talk page! I am especially interested since we seem to share interests! Happy Editing! Marx01 Tell me about it 02:33, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Great! Since you seem to have some experience on Wikipedia, I would like to know where you think your weaknesses are. That way I can set you up with a program to fit your needs. Also if you have any specific requests (not necessarily for articles [ex. Userpage modification] just ask! Marx01 Tell me about it 22:42, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't feel that I have a large weakness, I'm quite unfamiliar with a lot of the formatting, and have questions about it. I have seen inconsistencies between articles and the MoS, and also had some sets of questions regarding whether the MoS was just a guideline and the differences I saw are okay, or if the inconsistency should be corrected. In addition, I do feel like I need some help in determining reliability/notability; ie, how to determine if it meets those requirements
Coolio! I'll set you up with a personalized program page for anything you want me to address! YOur First task will be linking (basic I know but it's good practice) and then you should complete the test so I can narrow down some articles for you to work on. Also please reply on my talkpage, because I get back to you faster. I'll have you page set up within an hour! Marx01 Tell me about it 22:36, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption Page[edit]

Here is your link. Have fun! Marx01 Tell me about it 22:59, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Test!!!![edit]

Thank you for completing that. I will make sure to assign you articles which interest you. Also just want to remind you that (since you are opinionated) to keep a neutral point of view on any articles regarding any of those issues (which I will assign you at times). Do not be angry, upset, or anything like that. I just don't want you to get any warnings (I don't expect you to whether I say this or not, you seem very good in that area). Also I will be "drilling" (not literally) you later on some MOS standards because you asked. And now for something completely different:

I'm a sophomore, so I may not understand the workload you have. In the case that you have too much schoolwork to complete a task, please do not log on! I've unfortunately gotten messed up with that; so I'm just warning you. Although Wikipedia is great, it is not as important as schoolwork. Just a little reminder! Thank you again! Marx01 Tell me about it 00:13, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For completing the Optional Task[edit]

Since you completed an optional task, I will make you a userbox on anything you want! Just tell me what you want on it and I'll write it for you! Marx01 Tell me about it 23:47, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize I will give some more info I was in a big hurry and just wanted to give you that to work on. My bad! I'll write more but you can read the help page if you just want to get it done. Marx01 Tell me about it 23:56, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for your efforts![edit]

The Original Barnstar
I award this barnstar to Matthew Desjardins for his enthusiastic work as an adoptee and for completing things he was not required to do, but which introduced him into some of the advanced workings of the wiki. Good job! Marx01 Tell me about it 18:15, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Userbox[edit]

I will need to experiment a bit. I will have it to you by tomorrow.

Dead Link in H1N1 table.[edit]

I deleted your addition of the dead link. I've clicked on the link twice since you've added it and have reached the page successfully (and even edited New Hampshire's numbers). You may not have the latest Adobe Reader compatible with the page. Please don't add it again. CaninePitDog (talk) 22:30, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I wasn't exactly giving you a warning. I was just making you aware there was something wrong on some part of your end. Not sure why you weren't seeing it. I didn't want there to be some sort of edit clash! Thanks for your interest in the swine flu topics. Not many wish to help and many are abusers. Rollback[edit]

Hi - I've added the flag for you. Please review WP:ROLLBACK and feel free to ask if you need any help. Pedro :  Chat  20:12, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much —Matthew Desjardins 20:18, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats to our newest rollbacker![edit]

Congratulations on the rollback rights! I remember when I received them... ah so nice a feeling inside... Anyway I will soon be assigning you a task on that ( if you have already completed the last one) Anyway great job! I prefer Huggle personally but Twinkle is good too. Marx01 Tell me about it 00:45, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Huggle is very confusing at first, but ocne you get the hang of it it is easy to make near 20 page views a minute and 10 reverts (as far as I've ever gotten.) Twinkle is also good. Just use the one you feel the most comfortable with. Also no worries on the task; take your time. Thanks Marx01 Tell me about it 22:29, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar

Mumbai Airport mistake[edit]

Hi there. It seems that your revert was correct. Northwest and Delta as airlines have not merged yet so they still need to be listed seperately. Cheers! Snoozlepet (talk) 00:55, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Thanks for reverting the 2 bits on vandalism on my user page - it's appreciated! -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 23:06, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spaceflight portals[edit]

Hello! As an member editor of one or more of the Spaceflight, Human spaceflight, Unmanned spaceflight, Timeline of spaceflight or Space colonisation WikiProjects, I'd like to draw to your attention a proposal I have made with regards to the future of the spaceflight-related portals, which can be found at Portal talk:Spaceflight#Portal merge. I'd very much appreciate any suggestions or feedback you'd be able to offer! Many thanks,

WikiProject Human spaceflight activity[edit]

Hello there! As part of an effort to determine how many active editors are present in the spaceflight-related WikiProjects, I have made some changes to the list of members of WikiProject Human spaceflight. If you still consider yourself to be an active editor in this project, I would be grateful if you would please edit the list so that your name is not struck out - thus a clearer idea of the critical mass of editors can be determined. Many thanks in advance!

WikiProject Spaceflight reboot[edit]

Hello there! As you may or may not be aware, a recent discussion on the future of the Space-related WikiProjects has concluded, leading to the abolition of WP:SPACE and leading to a major reorganisation of WP:SPACEFLIGHT. It would be much appreciated if you would like to participate in the various ongoing discussions at the reorganisation page and the WikiProject Spaceflight talk page. If you are a member of one of WP:SPACEFLIGHT's child projects but not WP:SPACEFLIGHT itself, it would also be very useful if you could please add your name to the member list here. Many thanks!

Hello - some editors fight off the vandal hordes, as I do repairing pages with citation errors. If I didn't - there would be a large backlog in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting and in Category:Pages with missing references list as in Category:Pages with broken reference names (more than 1500 yesterday). But it is impossible to work it alone. Do you know how to do a "Blitz" (excuse the comparision) to find willing editors to work on it. It is much more easier to repair references if you do it one hour, one day or one week ago after the errors were made instead of months and years after the error was done. Very, very difficult to find these errors.

Only with WikiBlame Search it is possible to find and repair such errors.

Best wishes --Frze > talk 08:48, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New REFBot[edit]

There is a suggestion on Wikipedia:Bot requests for a new REFBot working as DPL bot and BracketBot do. I beg politely for consideration. Please leave a comment if you wish. Thanks a lot in anticipation. -- Frze (talk · contribs) 04:16, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
