Conflict of interest policy[edit]

Information icon Hello, Maureen Brindle. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 03:03, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Culture of Kolkata, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 11:32, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

August 2018[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 15:40, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please respond[edit]

You are at risk of being blocked for editing promotional editing made against a clear conflict of interest. Please respond so we can work to find other resolutions

Someone is putting unsubstantiated random rubbish to damage her image. She has been asked for money to stop it and your editors are doing it. There is definitely a conflict of interest with your editors and Princess Maria Amor. She has tried to stop it by having a partial stop put on her page but this has just saved the unsubstantiated rubbish something Wikipedia is supposed to be against. I have been attacked for trying to reverse it. I have screenshots of the changes your editors have made and I am documenting it for publication in the media. Maureen Brindle (talk) 14:18, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe I have missed something, can you please provide the differences when individuals have added unsubstantiated rubbish. I have looked briefly through the page history and I am not see what issues you are speaking to. You mention you have screenshots of the changes so you must know which edits are considered troubling to you. If you are not able to figure out how to add the links to specific changes you can e-mail the screenshots and I will try to enter the links so others can see what is so concerning. Thank you, --VVikingTalkEdits 14:27, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please attempt to discuss the changes you would like to see rather than edit-warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --Ronz (talk) 16:59, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

August 2018[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Maria Amor Torres. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - Arjayay (talk) 20:51, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Maureen Brindle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... I have updated Princess Maria Torres’s account for her at no cost. I have no financial links to her at all as the royalties from our books go from Amazon. Com to We Care for Humanity . I have little interest in Wikipedia but as I was invited to a prestigious women’s issues on Wikipedia event in UK I decided to join. 2 days ago I looked at Princess Maria’s account and was horrified. I know she paid an editor to do it for her. I have since learned that this person demanded money to keep it up. She did not pay. Two other editors have taken money to put it up but could not. My edit was purely factual expressing no opinion Ronz took it down in a warring manner and it needs looking into. Obviously he had some reason. The communications are very poor and it is never clear who gets the messages if anyone. My opinion of Wikipedia is very low and it is not woman friendly. your reason here) --Maureen Brindle (talk) 07:49, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Maureen, our guideline on conflicts of interest is not limited to paid editing alone. If you have any connection with the subject, then you should refrain from editing the article directly. You can instead suggest improvements to the article on the talk page at Talk:Maria Amor Torres by adding the code {{request edit}} along with your request. Please read WP:SIMPLECOI for more information. clpo13(talk) 15:38, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the template documentation at Template:Request edit, especially the "How to use" section. Simply adding the template with no content does not constitute an actual edit request, and doesn't give us an indication of what edit you want. We can't read your mind, and the brief notes you leave in your edit summaries aren't enough for us to work with. I'm trying my best to improve the article but without sources there is nothing I can do. Please join the discussion at Talk:Maria Amor Torres, give us some sources, and suggest some edits. Kendall-K1 (talk) 21:05, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the post above and follow that procedure to request edits to the article. Also note that honorifics are not used in the body of an article per Wikipedia's manual of style. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 06:46, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletions[edit]

Even your work has been deleted by Ronz. I have all the details screen shot. He is very biased and he has the conflict of interest reading his words. Maureen Brindle (talk) 21:33, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please review WP:No personal attacks and WP:Casting aspersions. Comment on content, not the editors involved.
Editors with content disputes are expected to adhere to Wikipedia's required civil conduct and using the proper dispute resolution processes. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 02:46, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Maria Amor Torres while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 09:41, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Discuss?[edit]

Hi Muareen. I work broadly across Wikipedia on issues of conflict of interest and advocacy, along with my regular editing. I've talked with lots of people who have behaved much as you have, and helped them figure out what is going on. I am not an administrator, but just another editor.

Would you be willing to discuss what is going on with me? You can reply here, just below this. This conversation will take some time, and several back and forths, so I hope you can be patient. Jytdog (talk) 01:29, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Maria Amor Torres, you may be blocked from editing.

Please stop editing the article directly, especially since your edits are not constructive - as already mentioned, honorifics do not belong in the article, sources have to be reliable, and Wikipedia is not the place to advertise or promote people. bonadea contributions talk 13:53, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

September 2018[edit]

Hi Maureen Brindle. Again, you should be using edit requestsrather than directly editing articles where you have a conflict of interest.

Maria Amor Torres is being considered for deletion at this point. If you know of any better references about her, we need them quickly. --Ronz (talk) 15:08, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Maria Amor[edit]

Your false statements from an unreliable source (as stated on Wikipedia) on Wikipedia are under your name that you have put back up, so we will see. Wikipedia is an unreliable source that all the universities warn about. I have no time for its nonsense. It does not need you’re wikiwar to bring it into disrepute just media light shining upon Wikipedia and its inaccuracies and bias. Best of luck. Maureen Maureen Brindle (talk) 15:52, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The information is all verifiable directly to her, and there's no reason to believe that it's inaccurate.
The source is not unreliable outright, but we don't agree if it is reliable for anything that we cannot verify independently, especially in light of the contradictions and circumstances related to the disputed information.
If you have information that you can provide to help shed light on anything at all, it would be very helpful. --Ronz (talk) 01:26, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for sharing your poem with me. I'm happy to clarify any of my comments. --Ronz (talk) 14:51, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Editing others' user pages[edit]

In the future, please do not remove large portions of other people's user pages as you did in this edit. Except in limited circumstances, this kind of behaviour is unwelcome. Thanks, ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 21:30, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
