Conflict of interest[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest.   1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

I have nominated Nursing Home Residents' Rights, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nursing Home Residents' Rights. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:15, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Encouragement[edit]

You have received little and that is a collective fault, myself included. I'm afraid you ran into a buzz saw of objections to, inter alia, copied material, lists, advocacy and articles focused solely on US perspectives. I know that my changes have been intended to fend off the article's deletion with the knowledge that the useful information you have brought is still there in the version histories and can be re-added. Please don't be discouraged. Your information and participation are valuable to all of us. Abby Kelleyite (talk) 18:15, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was glad to see you back editing at Nursing home residents' rights. I restored some more info from your earlier version, particularly reference to the IoM report. I could use your help with a couple specific citations. I left some info on the article's talk page Talk:Nursing_home_residents'_rights#Citations needed. Thanks. Abby Kelleyite (talk) 15:58, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate you and all of your hard, impressive, work. Thank you AbbyKelleyite. Thank you. Maxlivingston (talk) 20:46, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is sad, you never even received this[edit]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:25-Years-Logov2.png[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:25-Years-Logov2.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 01:58, 20 July 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:58, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The image appears to come from this page: http://canhr.org/about/index.html which bears a copyright symbol and date: "Organization and presentation of all information on this site © 2008 by CANHR™" I expect you are uploading this with CANHR's blessing but to do so, you need to 1)enter the source information on the image's description page; and 2a)Get CANHR to change their website to indicate that the image can be freely used under an appropriate free use license; or 2b) Get CANHR to explicitly license the image under an appropriate free use license via email. Information on the last can be found at WP:COPYREQ. Regards. Abby Kelleyite (talk) 19:32, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is a good catch... I would be uploading it with CANHR's blessing, but first I want to double-check that it would understand the implications of that. Maxlivingston (talk) 20:52, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:25-Years-Logov2.png missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:25-Years-Logov2.png is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:59, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of rights[edit]

If you still want to create a list of rights in list format, you could try again by creating List of United States federal nursing home residents' rights but I think you'll face an uphill battle. Most important, ask yourself if this really needs to be on Wikipedia as opposed to advocacy websites like CANHR? Frankly, I think you risk misleading people by putting lists on Wikipedia that will likely not be kept up-to-date in perpetuity. Better to have a general article on the topic that provides links to where people can get authoritative information in a variety of formats. But that's just my opinion. If you decide to try again with a list, read up on Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not first and if you are hit with a lot of objections consider moving your list back into your user space to work on it before someone sends it to deletion review. Just saying WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS generally won't work. Very importantly, if a website has a copyright symbol on it and material is copied, people will tag your article no matter what you say at the time. If you are going to reuse material that is on the web with a copyright symbol on it, you need to get permission beforehand so explicit evidence can be posted on the discussion page. Even if copyright issues are resolved, people will still object to it as plagiarism and as free web hosting of someone else's material, so just rewrite it if it's already on the web. The main objections (other than copying) you will likely face are WP:SOAPBOX, "wikipedia shouldn't be giving legal advice" and arguments along the lines of "are we going to have a list for every possible jurisdiction?" Country level may be an acceptable compromise. I'd recommend waiting for the current AfD discussion to close before moving any new article related to this topic into main space. Good luck with whatever you do. Abby Kelleyite (talk) 21:37, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

November 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, from its old location at User:Maxlivingston/Enter your new article name here. This is because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 07:29, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:40, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
