Tread volumes[edit]

Hi Medicine4Goat, this is to let you know that I reverted your recent contribution at Tire. It was unclear what you were trying to say. Also, I didn't see a supporting reference.

It seems to me that dry friction increases with an increase in tire surface on the pavement, which is only tangentially related to volume. The article talked about void area, which subtracts from the total contact surface area. How deep the voids are seems relevant for snow tires, but not for summer tires. If you'd like to discuss this further, let's do so at Talk:Tire, where you can introduce a new section for discussion. It would be important to identify a reliable source that supports what you are describing.

Hi Medicine4Goat, Please remember to sign your posts with ~~~~. Also, we usually ident our next post with a colon to help distinguish it from the one above. See WP:BOTTOMPOST for other such techniques. Cheers, HopsonRoad (talk) 11:57, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with "~~~~"
Disagree with ident for post distinguishing. Use separator instead, e.g. "☺☺☺☺☺☺"
