Speedy deletion of Radical comics[edit]

A tag has been placed on Radical comics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fair use rationale for Image:Radical R black web.pdf[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Radical R black web.pdf. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Radical R black web.pdf)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Radical R black web.pdf. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:59, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of David Elliott as founder[edit]

Dave Elliott has been removed as founder of Radical Publishing because he is not a founder of the company.

Founder of a company is defined by the business dictionary as "the entrepreneur who started a business. If multiple entrepreneurs were involved in the creation of the company, they are referred to as the founders."

Those entrepreneurs who founded the business as officers of the company included Barry Levine, Jesse Berger and Matthew Berger. At that time David Elliott was hired as Co-Publisher of the company after its formation and under the auspices of an At-Will employment agreement with the company.

As such David Elliott did not "start" the business nor is he a founder.

As you can see, we have revised the language to show the reality of Mr Elliott's employment and relationship with the company.

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2009/12/02/go-on-dave-lamp-him-radical-entertainment-dave-elliott-and-aladdin/

Except you are the ones who listed him as founder when you wrote the article [1].
Given your use of the word "we" I have to assume you actually work for Radical (despite implying you had no connection [2]) which would make your starting the article and edit warring on it clear breaches of conflict of interest guidelines. (Emperor (talk) 23:39, 2 December 2009 (UTC))[reply]
From Radical's own press release:
Which is reproduced all over the web (I even found it on Radical's own blog). That seems pretty definitive to me but I'll run it past other editors rather than add it straight back in. (Emperor (talk) 00:47, 3 December 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Emperor I appreciate your comments, but do not appreciate your deductive reasoning. Nor do I appreciate you deducing that by me stating that there are more than one of me revising this page and using the word "we" that that indicates where I work or that there is a conflict of interest. I have not asked you, nor will I ask you, or infer who you are or where you work or why you have such a definitive interest in this post, so I appreciate the same respect from you.

With that aside, your statement "you are the ones who listed him as founder when you wrote the article" is so misdirected and fallacious that I could probably find a dozen "breaches" that it falls under, but will not waste yours or my time.

The bottomline is that as editors we both seek out the verifiable "encyclopedic" information on behalf of this post and for that I commend your persistence and thank you for the dialogue. However, I take heed of the recent post in the link I posted above and which is now verifiable content on the history page of the company and which states that Dave Elliott was an "At-Will" employee based on a comment from the Company.

I would love to hear from you how an At-Will employee can be a "founder" of the company he was hired by? Obviously being hired, implies that the company was already founded prior to his hiring. Additionally, why would someone have signed an At-Will contract with the company if he founded the company? Doesn't make much sense does it?

I will also do some research in the terms of use on wiki to see if listing every piece of pending news about a company, including law suits, can even be considered encyclopedic. From my research on comic book company's on wiki, and for that matter ALL companies on wiki that I have found, no litigation or suites are listed! For the TWILIGHT wiki page, the pending litigation about copyright infringement is not listed there! There must be something in the terms of use that prevents the convolution of a wiki article.

I look forward to coming to a resolve on this with you. Maybe there is a compromise you want to reach on this article?64.17.251.74 (talk) 03:41, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Radical Comics[edit]

Hamburger,

I see that you feel that undid my edit. Does this mean that mentioning any and all pending litigations for every company on wiki is something you condone.

Does this mean that in the history of every company on wiki I should go around and mention their pending litigations, especially when that poses a direct violation of the Terms of Use and the neutral point of view of this site.

Before I re-undo your edit, I would appreciate your feedback.

I look forward to hearing back.

Thanks.Megaman2008 (talk) 04:18, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the edit as it appeared to be unconstructive. If there is an actual content dispute I won't get involved. But, I think you are misinterpreting WP:NLT as it doesn't mean that Wikipedia can't report on legal threats reported in reliable sources. So yes, Wikipedians can report on pending litigation that has been reported on in reliable sources. As to whether they should in each specific case is an editorial decision, and I'm not going to get involved in an content decision here. --HamburgerRadio (talk) 04:27, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
