June 2009[edit]

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to The Little Mermaid: Songs from the Sea: You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Oneiros (talk) 17:05, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Talkbackalien has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. Bsherr (talk) 03:34, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

your edits[edit]

Mistake[edit]

Hello, I received a message about vandalism, and I looked at the page (which goes on and on back to 2008), but I have never visited any of these pages. I received this computer from my school last fall for a year's use, and it is brand new. This computer did not exist in 2008, and I would hate to think that I would be blocked from Wikipedia for edits not made by me. I do have an account, and I will make sure I use it, but please take a look at this. -81.246.127.152 (talk) 07:39, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Help us develop better software![edit]

Thanks to all of you for commenting on the NOINDEX RfC :). It's always great to be able to field questions like these to the community; it's genuinely the highlight of my work! The NOINDEX idea sprung from our New Page Triage discussion; we're developing a new patrolling interface for new articles, and we want your input like never before :). So if you haven't already seen it, please go there, take a look at the screenshots and mockups and ideas, and add any comments or suggestions you might have to the talkpage. Thanks! Your revert of my edit to the "List of Blue Peter Presenters" article[edit]

Hi! Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong way of contacting you but I'm new to working with Wikipedia and couldn't find another way. Thanks for letting me know that you reverted my edit. I just want to explain why I made the edit in the first place. The original article referred to Michael Sundin as "a homosexual" - language like this is homophobic: it's much better to say that he was gay. I've re-edited the article to put it back to how I worded it. Thanks. Marosc9 (talk) 17:26, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is the correct way of messaging me, and welcome to Wikipedia. I completely disagree that using the word "gay" is more appropriate then "homosexual". This is an encyclopedia, and academic terms are preferred. However I'll not changed it again. –meiskam (talkcontrib) 00:38, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP Abuse[edit]

I was not responsible for any edits to any article. Any edits attributed to this IP address should be disregarded. 206.248.177.98 (talk) 01:31, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. That is perfectly reasonable, most peoples IP addresses change frequently. If you don't want to get messages that were directed at someone else, I suggest you create an account. –meiskam (talkcontrib) 03:54, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit to Gymnastics[edit]

Amoros was the proper Spanish spelling of his name, Don Francisco Amorós y Ondeano (Marquis de Sotelo), not an adjective describing his nature. Dabbler (talk) 13:03, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for correcting it for me –meiskam (talkcontrib) 15:22, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks from the STiki project![edit]

Hi Meiskam, I just wanted to stop by and thank you for contributions to the STiki project. A new release was rolled out today (see Wikipedia_talk:STiki for the CHANGELOG).. This includes user configuration being made persistent per your approach. I have not merged localization stuff into the main branch yet; and plan to wait until someone has the knowledge and resources to make another language happen before I venture down that route. Out of curiosity, what tool did you use to extract those Strings? Regardless, thanks for your help. To what extent are you interested in continuing to participate in the STiki project? Thanks, West.andrew.g (talk) 19:21, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For just the extraction, I used an automated tool in Eclipse (On the top bar, "Source" -> "Externalize Strings..."). However before I could use it, strings in some locations needed manipulating to get the part that needed extraction all on one line. I'd be interested in continuing development on STiki, however don't have some of the background knowledge that you do (ANN, etc.) .. also, I think it would be easier if I could view your commits onto the master branch. I've looked at the comments you've made in the changelog, and it seems you missed my commit that changed preferences from xml to a simpler format, was this on purpose? I'm looking into getting a toolserver account, but am not sure they would like this background application running on it .. I guess we'll see. –meiskam (talkcontrib) 19:18, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

STiki: A new version and a thank you![edit]

Greetings meiskam. As the developer of the STiki anti-vandal tool, I would like to thank you for recent and non-trivial use of my software. Whether you just tried out the tool briefly or have been a long-term participant, I appreciate your efforts (as I am sure does the entire Wikipedia community)!

I write to inform you of a new version of the software (link goes to list of new features). This version addresses multiple long-term issues that I am happy to put behind us. Try it out! Provide some feedback!

The STiki project is also always seeking collaborators. In particular, we are seeking non-technical colleagues. Tasks like publicity, talk-page maintenance, advertisement, and barn-star distribution are a burden to technical development. If you are interested, write me at my talk page or STiki's talk page.

As STiki approaches two significant thresholds: (1) 100,000 revert actions and (2) 400 unique users -- I hope to have your support in continuing the efficient fight against unconstructive editing. Thanks, West.andrew.g (talk) 00:04, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your rollback request[edit]

Hi Meiskam, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, then don't use rollback and instead use a manual edit summary. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 09:29, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Esther Rantzen in Who's Who[edit]

You'll have to be more specific about what needs clarification here. There is a link to the Who's Who article, which explains that this publication is effectively a directory of notable people. Are you having trouble drawing the implicit idea that Rantzen has an entry in this publication? Sometimes this is a thing that some editors take as read because they don't realise the degree that such things are taken for granted. Britmax (talk) 09:18, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at both of my recent edits to the page Esther Rantzen (diff), I only fixed a typo on it. I've just used the article blamer on that page, and it seems that User:Thumperward added the clarify tag back in 2009 with this diffmeiskam (talkcontrib) 09:37, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Probably me misreading stuff again. Thanks for that and sorry for the error. Britmax (talk) 09:45, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity[edit]

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting ipblock-exempt[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Meiskam (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I use a paid vpn (private internet access) which is under various blocked ip ranges, most recently 172.98.64.0/19 and 196.52.2.0/24. These blocks exist both globally and locally, my account has already been granted global-ipblock-exempt, but I seem to also require a local ipblock-exempt in order to edit here. relevant screenshots: [1] [2]meiskam (talkcontrib) 03:07, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

The requirements, and instructions for requesting ipbe via anonymizing proxies/vpn can be found at WP:IPECPROXY. SQLQuery me! 04:21, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Meiskam: I suggest you to change your DNS address or you can reboot your router/network adapter. Sometime it happens with me and I use my brain to solve it. :) Siddiqsazzad001 <Talk/> 04:08, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

IPBE[edit]

Hi Meiskam,

We've discussed this on the Functionaries mailing list, and your request for local IP block exemption (IPBE) is granted. Please carefully read Wikipedia:IP block exemption as it describes the heightened expectations for users with IPBE.

We generally issue IPBE with an expiration date, to limit the number of people who have it at any one time. I've reviewed the range blocks you say are affecting your account, and have given you IPBE for 1 year, by which time the current rangeblocks will have expired. If you find you still need it after that, please contact me and I'll review and re-add it.

Thanks for your work on WP over the last decade, and hope to see you around more this year now that you aren't routinely blocked from editing! --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:52, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
