Hi Melanie. You provide a good overview for a museum developer/preparator and how the role relates to collections care. The article follows organizational guidelines, proper citation methods, and the language is understandable to the average reader. I appreciate that you included that preparators can work outside a museum, as is often the case. That of course, does not diminish their important role, and as you mention they must at least have basic knowledge of what materials can be used in relation to others in order to keep them stable and safe. People outside of museums may not know this and just think of preparators as “handy-men”, so your addition of this detail is important to expanding the reader's understanding of this role. The only thing I think I would add is under the heading, Experience Required, when you state “preparators only need a BA in a related field”, I would just add a few different BAs as examples (but then again, I do tend to over explain). Good job! Hstevensmartin (talk) 13:56, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article Review[edit]

Positives include Developers/Preparators getting some much deserved recognition, great citations, and appropriate structure. A few recommendations: 1.) For someone who knows nothing about this profession, starting off with a discussion of team is probably confusing, so I might suggest building up to that after the actual duties of a Developer/Preparator is covered. On the note of teams, however, I actually believe the "3 sub-teams" is an arguable point, since interdisciplinary teams are the norm in many museums, but perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are saying. 2.) Regarding the discussion of Developers/Preparators being an "outside source" you could add something to the effect of contracting in there for better understanding about what an outside source is. 3.) Forgive the former English/Writing Instructor in me, but the "Cross-Disciplinary Skills" section needs some editing, as it contains punctuation errors and there is an incomplete sentence that are hindering the message/understanding.
